The Hard Count with J.D. PicKell

Welcome to The Sunday Sprint, a collection of J.D.'s takes following Saturday's college football action that have been taken from the On3 YouTube channel and tailored for The Hard Count's podcast audience. Today on the sprint we had breaking news! Penn State fired James Franklin Sunday morning and J.D. gives his instant reaction to Penn State's decision and who he thinks they should hire next in State College.

J.D. also reacts to this weekend's action including Indiana's big time upset win at Oregon, Texas bouncing back with a Red River win over John Mateer and rival Oklahoma, USC impressing in the trenches in a win over Michigan, and Ohio State making a statement against Illinois. We also bounce all around the SEC, unpacking both sides of the matchup in Georgia's win over Auburn, Texas A&M's strong showing against Florida, and Alabama holding on in Columbia for a close victory over Mizzou.

Today on The Hard Count with J.D. PicKell … it’s all about October in College Football — and how this month could define the playoff race and reshape the national picture.

J.D. breaks down which programs have the most important October, including Michigan, USC, Oklahoma, and Nebraska, and why each team faces a defining stretch. He also dives into Texas A&M’s turnaround, asking if the Aggies have finally cured “Battered Aggie Syndrome” under new leadership.

Then, it’s time for Red River Rivalry predictions — how does the Oklahoma vs Texas matchup change if John Mateer starts for the Sooners? J.D. closes by previewing Oregon vs Indiana, explaining what’s being overlooked in that Big Ten matchup and which under-the-radar factors could decide the game.

Today on The Hard Count with J.D. PicKell … we’re talking all things College Football Week 7 — quarterback questions, coaching pressure, and the biggest matchups across the country.

We start the show with a break down of his national title contenders and a game preview and prediction for LSU vs South Carolina. Also talking about if time is running out for Florida head coach Billy Napier, how we were wrong about Texas, Penn State, and Clemson, and why this weekend is major for Bryce Underwood and Julian Sayin.

J.D. also attacks every angle of the Red River Rivalry, diving into what's being missed in the matchup, if John Mateer will play or not, and why declaring Arch Manning as a "flop" is uncalled for.
