The Hawkeye Huddle

Lots of discussion of the Bowl victory over Vanderbilt and the football transfer portal. Plus, all good for the week on the hoops front. And wrestling is about to get going again in earnest.

Plenty of hoops talk as the both teams are now ranked and solidly in the Top Quadrant of the NCAA NET. Plus more football as the Iowa prepares for the Reliaquest Bowl and receives what is literally the BIGGEST postseason award given each year.

A lot of basketball talk as both teams lost close games at Top 10 rated Iowa State. The women have a huge chance at redemption this week in a contest against UCONN. Football Awards are out as well and food for discussion.

Post-season football accolades for the Big Ten are out and both basketball teams ready for their shootouts with the Cyclones in the Iowa Corn CyHawk series. Its an especially big one in Ames for the Women's teams.

The regular season for football comes to an end with an encouraging victory at Nebraska and now the winter sports seasons are in full swing. Basketball and wrestling both on tap!

An uninspired group came back for an inspiring win on the football field and now turn their attention to the rivalry with Nebraska to wrap up the regular season. The wrestlers prepare for their tussle with Iowa State. And the Women's Basketball team gets two huge wins to stay undefeated.

Another one-score loss, this time to USC, has the boys down but not out. Still optimistic about positively finishing up a season that will be remembered for a lot of reasons...good and bad.

The loss to Oregon was a gut-punch for the guys. But the Hawks have to move forward. So it is on to USC. Field Hockey and Soccer make the NCAA Tournament. And hoops is officially underway as is wrestling!

Well, to put it mildly, this is a BIG one. Saturday's upcoming game with Oregon has everyone excited about a huge matchup with CFP implications. Plus, the winter sports seasons are officially underway!
