Iowa led for nearly the entire game Saturday but didn't make enough plays to seal a second-straight Cy-Hawk win. Red zone woes, poor QB play, and Iowa's defense uncharacteristically allowing explosive plays in the second half helped Iowa State come back and beat the Hawkeyes 20-19 on a 54-yard Kyle Konrardy field goal with just six seconds left.

Iowa and Iowa State clash this Saturday in an intriguing Power 4 non-conference game. Both squads are 1-0 after games against ranked FCS teams. Iowa started slow and finished hot, beating Illinois State 40-0 with 5 second half touchdowns. FryFest is the annual celebration of legendary Iowa Head Coach Hayden Fry. It is the unofficial kickoff to the Hawkeye football season every year since 2009.
