Welcome to the Highbrary. We are your Highbrarians. Today we cover “Bluebird, Bluebird” by Attica Locke. Another Content and Trigger Warning: the Aryan Brotherhood rears its ugly head in this book and thus in this episode. Racism and injustice runs rampant in this novel set in East Texas. There’s drugs, murder, mystery, and truly confusing familial relationships. As Sir Walter Scott said “Oh what a tangled web we weave.” Indy introduces Annie to some Texas culture, fills her in on the latest storm back in Alaska, and we discuss the audacity of man(but mostly white men) . If that sounds like a good time, we’d love for you join us for this trip through the Highbrary. Love, Indy and Annie
