The Whitetail season has just come to end and we are all suddenly finding ourselves sitting at home wondering what to do next. Well boy do we have some good news for you -- Its time to start getting ready for the next whitetail season.

Welcome back to another episode of the Hunt Lift Eat podcast. This week we are focusing on off-season prep - specifically the things we can be doing to get ready for next deer season. Take note of what worked this past season, what didn't work, and start to create a plan to mitigate those risks. It can be physical, spiritual, picking your bow up more, learning more about feeding patterns, and so much more. The important thing to do is address those weaknesses rather than ignoring them.

Spoiler alert - He got a dandy of a buck. Probably the biggest deer that most of us have seen let alone have been successful in shooting. A nice 10 point and big bodied Georgia whitetail - one that any of us would proudly mount on the wall and recant for the rest of our lives.

While the Wyoming boys were on their western expedition, Luke was sitting on a few tags himself. And it wasn't until the boys tagged out that he starting looking for a deer himself. And not just a road forky, but a mule deer that makes you stop in your tracks and say "Damn, now THAT is a mule deer". 

And to add to the Mule deer success, less than 48 hours earlier, the boys quite literally stumbled into a herd of elk. A quick trip back into town for an OTC tag and a well executed 850 yard shot made for a long night. 

This is for sure a series of stories that you do not want to miss.
