In this episode, Zach and Jake talk about some of their experiences hunting during the peak of the rut when many mature bucks are "locked down" with does. This can be a frustrating time of the season but if you know where bucks hide when they do find a hot doe you can take advantage of the vulnerable places they go!

Topics Include:

-where to look for locked down bucks in different habitats and terrains

-calling and decoying locked down bucks

-why bucks disappear during the peak of the rut

Zach talks with Beau Martonik about the two bucks that he has already harvested this season! The first buck was shot on a morning hunt on PA's opener in a creek bottom, and the other was stalked in the timber of New York. Both hunts had a unique strategy for October bowhunting that many hunters shy away from this time of the year. But Beau was able to fill both tags on the first day of hunting each state this season!

-looking at different elevations to find deer sign

-stalking techniques for timber hunting

Topics Include:

-how to get permission on private land

-areas that may get overlooked in farm country
