Zach and Hayden cover what to look for when scouting from the truck. We often talk about looking for overlooked spots or driving around a new area before we ever start hunting but we don't usually go into too much detail about what we are looking for. Hopefully throughout this conversation you can get a better understanding of what exactly we are looking for when scouting from the road.

Topics Include:

-reading hunting pressure

-finding overlooked public land spots

-reading deer sign from the road and identifying habitat types

Hopefully throughout this conversation you can pick up on some tactics to apply to your hunts when the birds start getting pressured!

Topics Include:

-the pros and cons for all day turkey hunting vs half day closures

-the difference between private land turkeys and public land turkeys

-subtle turkey sounds (spitting, drumming, clucks, soft yelps, etc) and what they mean for communication

Aaron, Hayden and I talk about situational calling techniques for pressured turkeys. We discuss a variety of situations and talk about specific examples where different calling strategies brought in a gobbler. Hunting turkeys can be frustrating when they seem to constantly hang up, go the other way, or stop gobbling when you start calling, but by discussing different situations hopefully we can help you feel more confident when calling to a bird this season!

Topics Include:

-our favorite calls

-how to call in the bird that hangs up out of range

-reading a turkey and how to call to him based off how he is responding
