The Ian Furness Show

What's happening here? The Mariners are winning? They've actually won five-in-a-row, and Marco Gonzales is back tonight. The bad news is that Kyle Lewis is now on the IL. Are the Seahawks interested in Julio Jones? Any team doing their jobs will look into a player like Jones if he's available, but does it really make sense to bring him in? Alex Rodriguez is talking about bringing the Timberwolves to Seattle, but it isn't likely, and Ian explains why. The Stanley Cup Playoffs roll on, and we've got the highlights on the Power Play.

Kyle Smith, head men's basketball coach at WSU joins the show to talk about the development of the program; new players coming in, his coaching philosophy, and more. Naomi Osaka has withdrawn from the French Open citing mental health concerns surrounding doing media interviews. Texts react to the show at 49451. Softy drops in to discuss tomorrow's NHL draft lottery.

We start off this Memorial Day Weekend lead-in show on a positive note, with former NHLer Brantt Myhres who talks about his past addiction, and his recovery as he tries to empower others to get their lives back. He tells his story through his book Pain Killer, available in bookstores (and Amazon) now. While veterans of most NFL teams are showing up in-person to their respective OTAs, that isn't the case with the Hawks. Ian and Curtis outline why that matters. It's the first Game seven of this season's playoffs, and the first Game 7 ever in Vegas as the Golden Knights face the Wild tonight at 6. We find a little bit of good news and bring it to you every day at 1:50 on Something Good.

It may be the offseason, but there's still plenty of things to talk about in the world of football. We go over everything happening with The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Texts react to everything we've discussed today at 49451. Dick Fain drops in to tlak about being in a stadium for the first time since the pandemic hit.

Don't miss Ian Rapoport's weekly visit with Furness as Rap catches us up on all the news around the league. Rap's visits are thanks to the fine folks at Porter and York. Rare meat, well done. Visit PorterandYork.com to get great meat delivered straight to your door!

Food vendors have been announced at Climate Pledge Arena, but the area around the venue could really use a place for people to go before a game. Most of the places from the Sonics era are now gone. What would you like to see open up to help revitalize that neighborhood? The Seahawks seem to be the only team without full participation in OTAs, and this year it is more important for this team than it has been in the past. Why aren't more veteran players participating? We've got a recap of all of last night's Stanley Cup Playoff action on the Power Play. Every day at 1:50pm PT we take a break from the negative to spotlight something good happening in the world. We call it... Something Good.
