Sean & Cathy are BACK with NEW episodes, beginning with a discussion with Marc Almodovar - CEO of Wellness with Marc - talking about ADHD. You'll hear about Sean's constant struggles with it, as well as Marc talking about the realities of dealing with ADHD, and the importance of harnessing it and "accepting it as a gift, and not a curse."

Before we take a brief hiatus (don't worry, we'll be back in December) we wanted to take care of some "housekeeping" with regards to the previous episode, plus we'll update you about recent happenings, a super duper awesome video for our Patrons (Patreon.com/illestcouple) and we'll do a quick recap of our first 9 episodes.
We've learned, we've grown and we want to continue growing this with our faithful supporters. THANK YOU for sticking with us throughout this labor of love called "the illest couple"

September is Suicide Prevention & Awareness Month. We'd originally had something different (but related to the topic) in mind, but unfortunately life took an unexpected turn, and we were faced with the reality of suicide, first-hand.
This episode is somewhat shorter than our previous episodes due to circumstances. We hope you understand.

School is back in session, so we thought now would be a great time to talk about something that we felt was important - mental health, as it relates to educators.
So we thought, let's bring a guest onto the show - well, insert Damian! Damian is an accomplished educator at a high school in central Pennsylvania, and just happens to be one of Sean's best friends of over 30 years (man that sounds old as hell...)
In the episode we discuss everything from summer break transitions, to starting out as a new teacher, dealing with parents, and even the stress of handling "active shooter drills."

The number of mass shootings that have occurred in the United States continues to increase, as do the number of deflective tactics used in the media and/or political spectrum. This carries a certain level of danger, especially when using these heinous acts as ways to further stigmatize mental illness.
The fact-based evidence completely contradicts the gun lobby's efforts to avoid focusing on the real issues surrounding gun violence, and on this episode we'll provide information which clearly debunks their bogus theories which continue to spread throughout social media like wildfire.
This episode is not about our political views. It's not about our opinions on gun ownership, the current administration, etc. It's ultimately about one thing:
We MUST fight against the stigmatizing of mental illness. This is our contribution to the gun violence/mental illness debate (of which there should be none.)

We sort of took a detour from our original plans for this episode, as Cathy found out that July is Minority Mental Health Month, and with so much going on in the current new climate, we wanted to be on the right side of things by offering to shed a little light on the struggles that minorities have to deal with when it comes to mental health, why it's WAY more difficult for minorities vs Caucasians, etc.
We also talk about the recent heat wave that hit the US, the challenges that came with making our National Ice Cream Day video (visit our Instagram or Facebook to see the video) and we take a moment to share a listener email.
This episode had a LOT of material that had to be cut, but that just means we'll have stuff for our Patrons! Sign up to support us on Patreon for bonus material! Link below...

Baseball, and birthdays, and World Cup - OH MY!!! Oh, and throw our 1st wedding anniversary there too for good measure... It's been a busy couple of weeks, but we're back with another episode - which features another installment of the "Real Life" series.
In this episode, Cathy picks up her personal journey from where we left off - junior high/high school, through college. We'll talk about her first love, first real heartbreak, and how that lead to her really seeing her anxiety/depression rear their ugly heads (without her really knowing what's going on inside...)
The struggles were real, as you'll soon find out.
