It’s truly sad to see how some pastors are treated by their congregation. Of course, while pastors do stand to a higher account, they are human in need of the grace of God. It’s heartbreaking to see the things that young people face today. From early on, they’re being confronted with misleading information from all sides, especially when it comes to sexuality. We live in a society that tells them anything goes, whatever feels good to them in the moment is perfectly acceptable. As Pastor Bill examines the Song of Solomon, we’ll be reminded that God has a beautiful design for this part of our lives, and the Church needs to come alongside and provide grace and guidance. 

As we approach the conclusion of this poetic, sometimes graphic story of love between a young man and woman, Pastor Bill will draw our attention to the relationship between God and ourselves. This is a love story as well. God loved us before we were born, and He’s been scheming over His plan to redeem us and bring us into intimacy with Him since mankind fell into sin, maybe even before. Will we accept His love, or will we snub our Creator and reject His invitation into eternal life?

Does jealousy belong in a relationship? It’s often seen as toxic and unhealthy, and those are often appropriate assessments when it’s caused by distrust or pure selfishness. But, as we see demonstrated in God’s relationship with us, jealousy is nearly inseparable from any relationship. As Pastor Bill will point out in today’s message, when you feel love for someone, you want to be with them. Anything or anyone that stands in the way of that will naturally ignite jealousy in your heart. 

Weddings are beautiful. It’s a celebration of two becoming one – the relationship God designed man and woman for. These two were passionate about each other, and we can see that in the words the husband uses to describe his wife. Their love is strong.
