Is that true in your life? Is the incredible grace you’ve experienced apparent in your everyday journey? As Pastor Bill continues his detour from Acts into Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, we’ll be reminded that our lives are on display. You can preach the Gospel till you're blue in the face, and you should be verbally sharing the Gospel, but the world around you is looking at your life, more so than they’re listening to your words. Your life needs to demonstrate the grace you’ve been given.

Most plants don’t grow at a steady rate; it happens in spurts, with a sort of rhythm. It’s affected by the nutrients it’s taking in, the temperature, the amount of sunlight, and the water; all of these things have an effect. If you try to watch it grow in real-time, you won’t see anything, but it’s happening. As Pastor Bill will encourage us in today’s message, we need to continue on in faith, with patience. Continue to absorb the Word and seek the presence of the Holy Spirit, and your growth will happen.

Paul wrote the book of Ephesians while imprisoned in Rome. For most of us, if we were locked up for our faith, we’d be writing our state representatives and petitioning friends and family to take to the media. We’d be completely preoccupied with the injustice of our situation. However, as Pastor Bill will point out in today’s message, Paul’s heart wasn’t focused on his own needs or comfort; despite his bleak situation, he begins this letter with words of praise and gratitude for what Jesus has done in him.  

While the truth Pastor Bill just shared may sound like God is a selfish Deity, solely focused on His own glory and pleasure, it’s essential to remember that God created the very concepts of glory and pleasure. He also created us and decided that saving us through His Son, Jesus, was the most glorious thing He could do. That should speak volumes to our hearts about the value that God places in each one of us. We chose sin, selfishness, and brokenness, but He still loved us enough to offer redemption.

As we live in our broken bodies with our limited minds, we must simply be content with not understanding everything. No one fully understands God or the way He interacts with mankind. If they claim to, I’d approach their theology with great caution. As Pastor Bill will point out in today’s message, the Bible doesn’t draw a line between the doctrine of election, which is the idea that God chooses who becomes His Child, and the doctrine of free will, which dictates that we all get to choose our own fate. Is it possible these doctrines don’t cancel each other out?

What motivates you to give when you could keep for yourself? In today’s message, Pastor Bill urges you to support the weak, echoing Jesus’ words: It is more blessed to give than to receive. This truth should shape how you strengthen the church and others. Giving isn’t just an act; it’s a blessing that flows back to you. God can build His kingdom through your hands. Jesus’ promise stands: giving brings deeper joy. Your support lifts those in need. How do you live out the blessing of giving in your life?

Facing trials is like wind battering a sturdy tree that bends but doesn’t break. Today, Pastor Bill reveals Paul’s resolve amid chains and tribulation. He knew jail, bondage, and hardship awaited, yet none of it swayed him. Those things might distract, distress, or even discourage at times. But they wouldn’t alter his path. Paul pressed on to finish his race with joy. God can help you stand firm in the face of scary circumstances. How do you stay committed to finishing strong despite life’s distractions?

What does it mean to speak the full truth without holding back? In today’s message, Pastor Bill highlights Paul’s farewell to Ephesus, declaring himself innocent of their blood. He had fulfilled his duty, sharing the whole counsel of God’s Word. No part was omitted, whether easy or hard, liked or disliked. God can empower you to deliver His truth completely, just as Paul did. Paul’s commitment challenges you to the same boldness. How do you embrace sharing God’s full truth in your life?
