Their choice wasn’t random; it was a response to God’s purpose through Paul. God can stir hearts to abandon comfort for His mission. Their faith led them to step out, trusting His direction. That same call echoes for you. How do you respond when God asks you to follow Him boldly?

Seeing calm after chaos is like glimpsing sunlight through a storm’s end. In today’s message, Pastor Bill reflects on the riots in Ephesus, where revival sparked uproar, yet the mayor’s stand brought peace. The dust storm of chaos eventually ceased. Whether you’re glimpsing light at the tunnel’s end or just entering the storm, God’s promise holds: the uproar will quiet. Every storm has an end. His peace can steady you no matter where you are. How do you hold onto God’s promise during life’s storms?

We need relationships with other believers. This is critical. Yes, it’s only your relationship with Christ that saves you from sin and secures your place in eternity with Him. But these horizontal relationships with the people God’s placed in our lives can save us from a whole lot of pain and sorrow in the here and now. As Pastor Bill will remind us in today’s message, God can use those people to speak truth, encouragement, and life into your heart at just the moment you need it, pushing you closer to your Savior.

When people come to know Jesus, the world takes notice. Lives are changed as He transforms them from the inside out. People stop living in sin. They don’t drink too much, if at all. The drugs stop, and addictive habits are broken. They don’t watch the same shows that promote sin in its various forms. As Pastor Bill will point out in today’s message, when your economy is built on idol worship or other sinful practices based on greed, lust, or violence, following Jesus can be bad for business. 

You can’t be saved by proximity, inheritance, or right living. Growing up with Christian parents, attending Church, being an American, supporting a certain political party, or listening to the right radio station does not get you into the Kingdom of Heaven. As Pastor Bill will remind us in today’s message, there’s only one way in. We need to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He alone can save us when we trust in the work He did on the cross, bearing our sin and inviting us into a relationship with Him.

We carry a message of truth, hope, and life that turns this world upside down. For some, as Pastor Bill will point out in today’s message, this Gospel feels like a burden. They don’t hear the hope or life it contains. All they hear is the part that says they’re broken, and their sin will lead to destruction, and that makes them mad. Their sinful nature wants to fight back and protect its territory. They might take their anger out on the messenger, and we need to be prepared to face that as followers of Jesus.

Sometimes we have reservations about being filled by the Spirit. We imagine the stories of snake-handlers, people being “slain” in the Spirit, or spewing out some unknown language, and we’re afraid we’ll be seen as weird or crazy. But, as Pastor Bill will point out in today’s message, when you lay down your pride and surrender to the Spirit, you might do some things that look crazy to the outside world, but you can find wholeness and joy in your purpose as a child of God, dedicated to His will and way. 

The Holy Spirit is more than just a concept. For many outside the Church or new to it, He may seem intimidating and mysterious. He’s both of those things. But one of His primary jobs is to comfort us. He’s not a spirit that brings fear or condemnation. As Pastor Bill will explain in today’s message, the Holy Spirit does bring guidance and conviction, revealing ways that our lives dishonor God and leading us into behaviors and decisions that bring Him glory and share His Gospel of grace.

This life with Jesus is a learning process. For now, we see in part, and only when we stand before Him in eternity, made perfect and holy, will we be able to see and understand Him fully. As Pastor Bill will point out in today’s message, you can walk with Jesus for decades, dedicating your life to seeking His truth and serving His will, but you’ll still have gaps in your knowledge and understanding. That’s why it’s so important to remain diligent in studying His Word, prayer, and fellowship with others.
