IT’S OUR 1ST BIRTHDAY!!!! Kinda…

If you’re wondering why 52 episodes is a landmark, that’s because we’re a weekly show and there are 52 weeks in a year!

Shell, Dop and George are joined by regular guest and good friend, Mr Ben Gladwin, to celebrate. We get in to topics such as being a famous parent, how beneficial long form conversation can be and we even have a special quiz!

This week Dop, Shell and Tee are joined by good friend and collaborator, Mike Woodvine.

Mike is a guitarist, composer and producer who plays for Tee, Sub Blue and many other artists. He’s recently just finished playing in the pit band for a show at Liverpool’s Royal Court.

We talk about feeling lost when the dust settles after a big job, Tee’s new venture to bring more R&B to Liverpool and our usual smegments!

This week it’s Dop, Shell and George, joined by good friend, sometime colleague and all round nice guy, Cameron Easton.

Cam is a drummer who studied at RNCM before moving down to London. He’s fantastic behind the kit and we shared the stage with him at the infamous Sub Blue x Deliah gig at LIMF 2019. Since then we’ve played a few shows here and there together as he continues his life as a session drummer in the capital.

Things get a bit comfortable has we delve into packets of sweet treats brought to us from New Zealand, so apologies for any chewing noises. We talk about life as a session player, music scenes in different countries and making a life as a creative in London.

This week Shell and Dop get deep.

As we settle into a new year, and decade, we take a look at some of the opportunities and tests that may come your way with this inevitable time of change, and whether the two can be confused. Michelle also delves into her 21 days of abundance.

IT’S 2020 AND WE’RE BACK! We hope you had a great festive period and are looking forward to the new year…we decided to looks back over the previous one, in regards to film. We’re massive film fans here in the band and we thought we’d pass our findings onto you, to ease us into the new year before getting going again properly.

It’s the end of year and that means we’re not only doing our last pod of 2019, but our last pod of this decade.

Crazy.

Joining us this week is someone that we have recommended multiple times on our “Who The Fuck is Peter Guy?’ section of the pod. It’s Isabel Murgelas, otherwise known as I.M The Artist. Not only have recommended her already, she is produced by our very own Alex Dop, with an EP out right now! You can stream Self Made on all platforms!

Isabel is an amazing lyricist and we delve into how she blurs the lines between singing and spoken word, as well as the scene that is created for that genre. And, of course, LOADS more, including our usual smegments.

It’s just Shell and Dop for this one, singing the post Birthday blues. The main talking point is about how age affects creative careers as both Shell and Dop turn another year older. They also go off on a few little tangents, as usual!

We also have our regular smegments!

Shell and Dop take a little trip to south London to visit another member of the wider community. Guitarist, producer, keys player, DJ and an artist in his own, pretty damn successful right, Mr Jalen N’Gonda.

Jalen has been smashing it with his solo project, playing all over the world, including supporting the legend that is Lauryn Hill. We talk about his musical beginnings, the realisation that everyone is faking it, even when they make it, and hear a harrowing story about a broken guitar.
