Today we are met with Roseanna Ruane, mother of Saoírse, and she tells us the amazing story of her daughter’s experience dealing with osteosarcoma, and how strong she has been after losing her leg. Roseanna talks about how her daughter’s diagnosis and trial have affected her, and what she has gone through as the mother of someone struggling with cancer. She tells us about wanting to have another baby right after having Saoírse, but learned things wouldn’t be so easy the second time around. There are a lot of trials people go through and you just never know what someone might be dealing with and Roseanna talks about the challenges she has faced that only someone who has gone through them will be able to comprehend.

“And when you kinda step away from the scene for a while, it's a bit like, ‘Are they gone a bit funny?’ But you’re not gonna start telling people, ‘Well this is what we’re doing.’ So this is what we were doing. We were trying to have another baby. And then as well you have the people that don’t realise what they’re saying. They’re saying, ‘Oh, have you only the one?’ and ‘What’s taking you so long?’” “Devastating to hear that.” “Yeah, it is devastating because you want to scream and go ‘We are trying! It’s not happening!’” 26:01
