In today’s episode, I chat with my new friend Manja Horner. Manja is a master at helping businesses thrive through deep learning. Her business Boost LD helps companies maximize their team’s performance, reduce inefficiencies, limit turnover, and more using digital training and development.
Manja and I talk about some of the challenges companies face when it comes to retaining top talent. Factors like a poor preboarding experience, a poor onboarding experience, and a lack of proper training can turn an excited new employee’s experience sour, leading to costly turnover. Manja encourages us to think from a new hire’s perspective and create a welcoming, supportive environment for them. She also shares her insights into how to best develop employees, how to identify where they need training, and so much more.
If you’re ready to create your best team yet, this episode is for you! ________________________________________________________

In today’s episode, I talk about a common pitfall I see in many founders. Are you in the habit of blaming your team when you don’t get the results you want? It’s incredibly easy to point the finger outside of ourselves when things don’t feel good. But here’s the thing: By not looking at the common denominator in your repeating negative cycles — yourself — you miss the chance to actually solve the issues you’re facing.
I discuss ways that leaders sometimes create problems for their companies through the way they hire, train, and develop talent. I discuss the common complaints I hear that point to a leadership problem. And I discuss how you will benefit when you get honest with yourself about how you play a part in repeating negative cycles.

In this episode we are talking about how people strategy IS business strategy! Through my 15 years working with leaders on growth, there has been one constant trend that differentiates leaders, those who believe, place emphasis on planning a people strategy with the same energy that they plan their business strategy WIN. When you focus, as a leader, on building a team we enable that team to help us build the business. How do you build a people strategy? Join me as I walk through how people strategy sessions will enable who you need on your team, in what roles and when. ______________________________________________________ Follow Jackie on Instagram| @jackieserviss Follow Serv Recruitment Agency on Instagram| @servrectuitmentagency Find more information| www.jackieserviss.com Contact Jackie| [email protected]
In today’s episode, I continue my exploration of AI with another industry titan, Ryan Wallace. Ryan is a consultant at Lemay.ai and the CEO and Founder of Snowshoe.ai, an ingenious tool that supports businesses by allowing employees to ask questions and get answers through an organization's documentation. I tap Ryan’s deep understanding of artificial intelligence to better understand what we can expect from this revolutionary technology.
Ryan and I talk about what AI is and isn’t capable of and why partnering with the technology will put you ahead of the curve. He discusses its cognitive abilities and how expects them to evolve over time. We don’t shy away from topics like fake news and discuss common causes of fear among business owners. Plus, Ryan and I chat about how we’re incorporating artificial intelligence into our routines and how it's making life easier for us.

In today’s episode, I discuss how sometimes imperfect action is better than no action. I’m a big believer in taking a sacred pause when you need to. Frankly, sometimes we just need to stop. But not all the time. So when should you push through and take messy action, and why? I talk about perfectionism, and how it can hold us back from keeping forward momentum.
I share how people-pleasing and worrying about how others will receive us creates other barriers to forward movement. Keeping a service mindset can help us move past the people-pleasing ego trap. Plus, I talk about the questions you can ask yourself when faced with a decision of whether to sit something out or not.
If you’re ready for some motivation to keep you moving forward, this episode is for you! ______________________________________________________

This episode is super exciting, as I have a returning guest — Graham Barlow, a serial entrepreneur for over 20 years, startup advisor, public speaker, and gamer. Graham is an absolutely fascinating person who started his first software company at age 10! Since then, he’s been the founder and CEO of numerous tech companies, including Keshet Technologies, a tech-based sales and marketing accelerator. You could say Graham knows a thing or two about technology and business.
I pick Graham’s brain regarding all things AI. He debunks the most common myths about the technology (including that it’s out to get your job) and shares how AI can help people focus on their zone of genius. We talk about how AI can help entrepreneurs get past their fears of putting themselves out there online and increase sales through automated pitching. Plus, we discuss where AI is putting jobs at risk and how individuals whose jobs are impacted by AI can pivot.
If you’re ready to learn about all things AI, this episode is for you! ________________________________________________________

In this episode, we dive into organizational design 101 and I talk about a phrase I use daily with leaders, “boxes before people”. In this episode I explain why having clarity before hiring is so crucial for setting leaders up for success.
So many entrepreneurs hire reactively without understanding what BOX (role) they truly need to fill and how this box will enable their future growth. By creating a clear roadmap and deep understanding of who you need, in what roles and when we are setting the business, leaders and talent up for success.
Let’s dive in.

Welcome back to another episode of the Jackie Serviss Show. I am so excited to share a dear friend of mine, Chad Brown, with you! Chad Brown is a leadership engagement expert. He coaches executives and entrepreneurs in the art and science of leadership for themselves, their teams, and clients to create new, unprecedented results and experience fulfillment in their work. Chad is an Associate Partner at Take New Ground and the co-host of The Naked Leadership Podcast.
Chad shares his previous experiences as a founder and how getting lost in his business led him to his passion for helping other founders in the same position. Chad explains how one question posed by a mutual friend of ours- Adrian Koehler- sparked a significant reflection for him. Chad’s answer showed him the darkness in being a founder and helped him realize his true motivation. As Chad says, “what we resist persists,” and he has made it his mission to work with other founders to stop resisting their darkness and instead befriend it and start using it as a tool instead of letting it hold them back.
In this episode, we dive head first into all things leadership and personal development challenging the stories that we, as founders, sometimes live in. If you are ready to hold up a mirror and do some reflecting, this episode is a great place to start! _____________________________________________________

In this solocast, I discuss why sharing our stories is so incredibly powerful. Is there something from your past that you’re holding on to, afraid to reveal it to the world? Maybe it’s a tale of trauma, or of overcoming the odds, or some other aspect of your life that makes you feel vulnerable.
I talk about how opening up about my encounter with a brain tumour actually flipped my script from being a victim to being an empowered leader who is driven by service to others. When we’re too afraid of being judged to share where we’ve come from, we rob other people of the chance to feel less alone in their struggles. You don’t have to share your story on a huge platform like I do, but sharing it with someone can not only liberate you but help change our world.
If you’re ready to unpack the power of sharing your truth, this episode is for you! ________________________________________________________
