The Jersey PodCats

This episode’s guest is Mollie Sperduto, cat Mom to Echo and Goblin, comedienne, and owner of Ginger Ninja Productions where she puts together stand-up comedy shows for fundraisers and all sorts of other events.

We went on to discuss with Mollie how we take care of our cats and whether they want other cats in the house or not.  
We hit on other topics too, such as how Mollie's husband was paw-picked by her cat!  We also discussed helping cats with health problems and debated - is it best to treat them with treatments that may be harsh, or to leave them well enough alone to heal themselves?

That of course segued into ways to give medicine to cats and also to reflecting back on cat lives well lived and how we sometimes beat ourselves up regretting decisions we made.  

Mollie ended the segment with a sage piece of advice that put it all in perspective.

The heart of this episode features a discussion with Nicole Kennedy about her three cats, who serve as emotional therapists in fur coats, including her 26 pounder.  She had a pillow made with her cats' photos on it that she kept in the hospital with her for a 6 week stay and it opened a lot of connections and conversations to keep her sane.  She talked to a lot of people about cats including an art therapist, and Nicole painted a picture of her cat Kevin from a photo that they printed out.  The art therapy really helped her get through the tough time.

In this episode we discuss how we started this podcast because of Max, a rescue kitten that Calico adopted who developed a problem - he wouldn't quit scratching his face.  After many trips to the vet, Calico met Stray and together we decided to launch a podcast to find some suggestions from the community.

We realize that other cat lovers have cats experiencing difficult issues, so we want to create a community where everyday cat lovers can exchange ideas, connect resources discuss their cats, and help each other!  And hopefully find a suggestion for Max that Calico can take to her vet.
