  • A Solopreneurs Guide to Additional Income Streams
Since the late 1990s, I’ve had the opportunity to test-drive the popular business models of the time. All while building a service-based business. In today’s episode, I want to share with your four business models that are “doable” for Solopreneurs and small business owners. If you’re currently selling your services online, and not hitting your income goals, today’s episode might be a breath of fresh air to you.
The truth is – you don’t have to make 100% of your income selling services. There are other alternatives. Today, we’ll talk about how to get started with simple courses or information products using our “less moving parts” approach.

  • What Causes People to Stop and Notice Your Business?
Most of us begin our businesses journey with an intense focus on the product or service we want to deliver. We want it to be the best product or service we’re capable of delivering. We’re entrepreneurs, we’re solopreneurs, and we’re proud of our product.
Eventually, we hit a plateau. For some, the plateau may be much higher than it is for others. But it’s a plateau, nonetheless. You gain some customers, you lose some customers, but nothing much changes. For some, unfortunately, this is the beginning of the end.
The business withers over time and dies. For others, it’s just a temporary setback.
In today’s podcast, I want to start by asking the question, “What causes people to stop and notice your business?”
Getting noticed in a noisy world usually doesn’t happen by accident. Not consistently, anyway. In today’s podcast, we’ll look at a few strategies you can use to make a more memorable impression than your competitors. If you’re feeling stuck… you won’t want to miss today’s episode!

  • Building an Online Platform that You Own and Control
I discovered WordPress for the first time back around 2005. By 2008 I’d gone all-in with it as my content management system of choice. It was and still is, in my opinion, the best tool out there for the average entrepreneur looking to start, build, and grow their online brand.
Things have changed quite a bit since then. The rise of social media caused a lot of businesses to change their approach to online marketing completely – which brings us to today.
More than just a few marketers have recognized how difficult it is to consistently reach your audience or market without investing in paid advertising. Looking at the big picture, one thing is becoming crystal clear. We all played our part in building the world’s largest social platforms that we neither own nor control.
This brings us back to the topic of today’s episode. Why not invest your time, energy, and focus on building a platform that you both own and control? I’m talking about your domain, your website, and your platform.
    Not someone else’s.
I’m talking about your site, your traffic, your products, and your services. Simply put – why build someone else’s platform at the expense of your own? That and more in today’s episode.

  • Planning During Uncertain Times
One of the things that Entrepreneurs and Solopreneurs find difficult is having to navigate the increasing uncertainty that surrounds their business, niche, and marketplace.
For example, what’s hot and what’s not as far as topics, products, services, and information goes. These things can change often and quickly.
Maybe you were focusing on something very popular, but it’s not anymore. Just as you’re preparing to catch the wave of a new trend, the trend is over. And now, you’re forming the habit of second-guessing yourself.
In today’s podcast, I want to talk about planning for the future during uncertain times. With the right foundation, you can and will succeed. Knowing and believing that makes all the difference.

  • What Do Businesses Want in 2022?
Much of the business world has been in a state of crisis over the past two years. Certain markets more than others. And now, with inflation and the threat of a recession looming on the horizon, there doesn’t appear to be an end in sight.
This leads to the question and the topic of today’s episode, “What do businesses want in 2022?” Where is the focus and what are the challenges and issues they’re most concerned with?
If you’re ready to make an impact in the business world of 2022, you won’t want to miss today’s episode

  • Should You Invest in Paid Ads or Facebook Advertising?
I could probably easily write a two-thousand-word article on the pros and cons of paid advertising. For most, the cons seem to outweigh the pros. For example, for years I took the position that I wasn’t going to spend more than I could afford to lose in paid advertising. This was even before the days of social media.
But the truth is, I didn’t have a logical, workable strategy driving any of my early advertising efforts. With my online business, I choose right out of the gate to focus on content creation, SEO, and brand-building. Did it work? Yes. Did it take time? Yes. It was an ongoing investment in time and effort.
In today’s episode, however, I want to focus on getting started with paid advertising in general, and Facebook advertising more specifically. Just about anything you can with organic content, you can do with paid advertising. If you’re a newbie to the world of paid ads, today’s podcast is designed to help you get started.

  • Self-Audit – What Kind of Value Should You Be Offering?
Value can be measured in many different ways. We purchase products and services because they bring value into our lives. Even the simplest of products, like a game, can bring us some relief from boredom or stress.
More complex products or services enable us to accomplish goals and make forward progress in whatever area of life or business we need help with.
In today’s podcast, I want to talk about getting crystal clear on the kind of value and the kind of experience you’re capable of bringing to others. And getting crystal clear on why you’re doing what you’re doing, and why you’re a better choice than your competitors.
If you’re ready for change, you’re going to enjoy today’s podcast episode.

  • Belief and Knowing Your Value
As an entrepreneur or solopreneur, it’s critically important to understand the exact kind of value we bring into our marketplace. Whether it’s your skillset, your experience, your insights, your methods, or a combination of things, there’s a reason why people do business with you.
If you’re struggling, maybe you haven’t identified exactly what it is that makes you unique from a product or business type of perspective?
Understanding exactly what you have and why it’s valuable is the first step in being able to package and present it more effectively in whatever market you’re in. It’s a key component in your foundation.
Like a writer who has yet to discover their “voice,” there is a sense of vagueness to your mission. In today’s podcast, I want to talk about getting a better insight into your business life and understanding what motivates you to take action (and what doesn’t).

  • Where We’ve Come From and Where We’re Going
In today’s podcast episode I want to talk briefly about where we’ve come from in the past year and where we’re going in the year ahead of us. Over the past few years, I’ve learned the importance of taking what’s reported in the mainstream media in much smaller doses.
Especially when it comes to, believe it or not, economic news and business forecasts. Over the last few years, we’ve seen more people shift to doing business online and starting online businesses than I can recall in recent memory.
That said, I believe it’s a great time to start an online business and build something that will prosper even when the general economy doesn’t. That and thoughts on simple, financial goal setting in today’s episode.

  • Your Path to Six-Figures in the New Year
Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope all of you enjoy your Christmas vacation this year – even if it’s just for the day. In today’s podcast, I want to talk about the numbers, conversions, and percentages. In some ways, it’s a flavorless topic – like vanilla minus the vanilla flavoring.
Strip away all the passion, excitement, and emotion and what do you have? You have the numbers. They either work or they don’t. Whether you’re looking to generate 50k, 100k (or more) as we enter the New Year, you’ll have a clear understanding of what the numbers “under the hood” look like in today’s episode.
It’s short, sweet, and to the point. You won’t want to miss it!
