-It’s barbecue season - and across the country people are planning their summer parties. But when it comes to communal beer coolers - is it acceptable to take other people’s beer? Or should you stick solely to the beer you brought along yourself?

-A love story went viral online last night. A comedian named Rosey Blair and her boyfriend were flying to Texas but were put in separate seats. They asked a fellow passenger if she would mind switching seats so that they could sit together. Rosey joked, “maybe you’ll fall in love with the person you end up sitting beside.” And by all accounts, it seems like she did!

Chapter 6:
-Canadian imposed retaliatory tariffs kicked in on Sunday targeting American imports such as ketchup, coffee and maple syrup, but Canadian economist Jeff Rubin says it’s time to hit Trump where it hurts, and that’s through coal. The US ships more coal from BC than from any other port, and combined with Trump’s desire to revive the coal industry, is this the leverage Canada needs?
Chapter 7:
-Surrey Mayor Linda Hepner unveiled six key recommendations as part of the release of a report into gang violence in Surrey. It’s in the wake of several deadly shootings, the latest; 46 year old hockey dad Paul Bennett, who was gunned down outside his South Surrey home on June 23. The recommendations focus on keeping children out of gangs and, as we heard earlier, Hepner wants to ‘make life miserable’ for gangs. But at a grassroots level, will this really work? And what does that even mean?

Chapter 9:
-A recent RBC report noted that higher interest rates have led to a deterioration in housing affordability in Canada’s two major markets, and in Vancouver we are currently at crisis levels.
Chapter 10:
-A major search-and-rescue operation is still underway Wednesday after three people fell from one of the pools atop Shannon Falls, south of Squamish, on Tuesday. RCMP said the three people were with a group of friends when they slipped out of the water and fell into a pool 30 metres below.
Chapter 11:
-After the passing of bill C-45 in the Senate three weeks ago, the Conference Board of Canada has expressed concerns about how businesses will navigate the tricky path to legalisation. Monica Haberl, research associate from the Board says 52 percent of businesses say workplace safety ranks as the number one concern.
Chapter 12:
-A man and woman, named as British citizens Charlie Rowley and Dawn Sturgess are both in critical condition. Police say emergency crews were called to a house in Amesbury, in the region of Wiltshire, in southwest England on Saturday morning, where they found Dawn Sturgess collapsed. They were called back later in the day when Charlie Rowley suffered the same symptoms and also collapsed. The incident took place about 12 kilometres from where the Skripals, a Russian father and daughter, were poisoned with Novichok, a nerve agent, in March.
