The ones that I have enjoyed have allowed me to build deeper relationships with people by creating a space for on-demand discussions, idea sharing, etc.

The reality is that investors don't put money into ideas. No matter how good they are. They invest in business models that show promise. That requires execution. Which in turn leads to milestones. Which leads to investments.
