What is your relationship to food? Have you ever fasted? Do you diet? Today's episode is with my sweet Sally Schimko, Founder of My Sexy Veggies. Sally is on a mission to inspire others by sharing her passion for food, fitness and wellness. We discuss our relationship to food, its impact on our health and emotions, about creating balance and more.
How do you see your body, and how do you feel about it? Do you have disordered eating? In today's episode Stephanie Shames shares her story of how she was finally able to move beyond the eating disorder that controlled her life for more than a decade, and how her journey led her to create Shameless, her body positivity movement. Steph has been named one of the top 10 most inspiring fitness trainers in the U.S. by Well+Good and Reebok, and she'll be doing a Ted Talk next month.
Are you true to yourself? I had such a beautiful conversation with one of my favorite people, Rachel Robinson. Rachel is a Master Instructor at Barry's Bootcamp, active with Jamie's Rescue, wife to Natalie Gee and mom to Jack, Jesse and a baby girl on the way. Many of you may know her from her years on MTV's The Challenge. She's an activist and one of the most authentic, genuine and true people I've ever met. Let's see what Rachel has to say about being true to yourself.
Do you have anxiety? Do you feel overwhelmed or stressed a lot of the time? Are you out of touch with yourself - out of touch with who you really are? Do you have a sense that there's something missing in your life โ like you should be doing more or being more somehow? Bianca was feeling all of those things, and even worse a few years ago. Over the last 2.5 years she made major life changes โ on the inside and the outside. From losing 30 lbs to deepening her self-awareness, the changes have been profound and they're just the beginning. In our first full episode we take a deep dive into Bianca's personal journey which lead to the creation of The Joyful Hour.

I'm Bianca Erickson and this is The Joyful Hour Podcast. According to neuroscience, joy is our natural emotional state. Meaning that being in a state of joy - having a deep sense of well-being and peace - virtually all the time, is not only possible โ it is actually how we are designed!!! Yet we struggle, feeling stressed, anxious, fearful, overwhelmed or depressed instead. There are many inspirational resources out there, but it can be difficult to translate those messages into reality in our own lives. The Joyful Hour Podcast will help you learn easy ways to allow your natural state of peace and joy to bubble up more often, to help you build your "joy" muscle.
Every Monday, I'll be talking with leaders and experts in personal development and wellness who have compelling stories and effective strategies to share. I'm kicking off our weekly series with a deep dive into the story behind The Joyful Hour.

I'm excited to begin this journey back to joy!
