The JRPG Report

The Atelier Mysterious Trilogy is getting a remastered release for Switch, PS4, and PC in April. I'll let you know what we learned and my warning for players who came into the series with Ryza. Speaking of which Ryza 2 continues to amaze. Check out our nightly livestreams via the Youtube channel. You'll want to check out all the week's trailers there and subscribe so you don't miss any. We've got news of new jobs in Bravely Default II before its release at the end of February. This week saw the big release of Y's IX: Monstrum Nox so I hope you are all enjoying it. This is the beginning of a crazy few months of JRPG gaming. I'm happy to be a part of it.

*Do not listen to this podcast if you haven't beaten the game. We will talk about it all!*

I finally beat The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV a few weeks ago. So that means its spoilercast time! Jake waited patiently for us to talk and boy do we talk. So much so that we had to break it up into two parts. This episode covers all the basics, the beginning, up to the Eventide event. Part 2 comes next week with everything else.

It's a light news week again (Only about 20 minutes) so let's dig into a mailbag show! I'll cover some news first, give initial thoughts about Atelier Ryza 2, and then dive into some fun questions. I had a lot of fun answering these questions and hope you enjoy my responses.

No seriously what is it? I attempt to answer as best I can with limited information. It's a light news week but we have some fun this episode. First off I'm sorry for the first 10 minutes or so of audio. I didn't notice until it was too late. Second we have new info for Disgaea 6, new demo and mobile releases, and a new expensive NeiR bring arts figure you can't afford. Lastly we have an awesome listener review from Dalton. You won't want to miss it or his custom ending. Thanks for listening!

We learned of Neptunia Virtual Stars' release date in the west along with when Switch owners will be able to play Cold Steel IV. Plus some other fun stories. In the end Jake will give us his review of Dragon Star Varnir. Thanks so much for listening!

It the last day of 2020 so let's talk about the JRPG of the Year! In my mind there are only two choices: Trails of Cold Steel IV and Final Fantasy VII Remake. Jordan and I discuss which one is deserving of the title. In other news there was no news to discuss! So we look forward to the most anticipated titles of 2021. Spoiler: it's going to be an amazing year!

It was quite a week in the JRPG world! First we got a huge announcement about the new Legend of Heroes title. Called Trails of Black its an all new entry in the series. I'll give you every bit of info we have. Second we have a 2022 release window for Granblue Fantasy Relink along with 23 minutes of new gameplay footage. The new release window is a bummer but not unexpected. And we got a whole lot of non news for Tales of Arise. New info is promised for 2021 but that's all we learned from the Tales live stream. Lots of other cool things happened making for a great show. Merry Christmas we may or may not be back with a new show next week. Check our social media for an update.
