Today, we remember the tragic events that occurred on September 11th, 2015. We will never forget the beautiful souls that were lost. They will always be in our hearts. God bless their families and the United States of America. #NeverForget

Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis was sent to jail by a federal judge after she refused to hand out marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Davis has stated through her lawyer that she is willing to stay in jail for as long as this situation lasts. Have we become a country that now disregards the rights of those who have strong religious beliefs? To go against what you believe in is never easy, nor fair.

Two youth cheerleading coaches in Alabama decide that wearing racist t-shirts can be funny. Really??? What will it take for people to realize that discrimination and racist acts of any kind will not be tolerated? Then again, this did happen in Alabama. Can we really be surprised?

I also discuss the shooting and killing of Deputy Darren Goforth, who was married with two children. We must find a way to end gun violence once and for all, but many other issues must be addressed to help in this effort. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Unrest continues in Ferguson, as a year has now passed since the death of 18 year old Micheal Brown. Police are on standby once again, but are they truly there to calm the situation at hand? With police brutality on the rise, we must not give in to the actions that will only lead us to death. We must find peace in the days ahead.

Bobbi Kristina (daughter of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown) passed away on Sunday, July 26th, 2015 at the young age of 22. Her death stunned people all over the country, as she died from a eerie situation from a similar incident that took her mother's life.

Reflecting on what has occurred, it has made me realize that the people we have in our lives are key to whether we have happiness, peace or even life itself. We must be truly careful of the company we keep.

Sometimes the thing we must do is not what we want to do. Who wants to give up their rights? After countless stories have filled the media of African Americans dying by way of police brutality, we must focus on what we need to do in order to save our lives.

My thoughts and prayers go out the victim's families that were affected by the Chattanooga, TN shootings and continued thoughts and prayers for the families in Charleston, SC.

A 28 year old female named Sandra Bland dies while in a Texas jail cell. Although a medical examiner has ruled the death a suicide by hanging, Bland's family is in disbelief of these findings. Was this a suicide or a homicide?

After nine people were killed at Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, the debate began on removing all visible Confederate flags. Will removing this flag truly remove the hatred from the hearts of those that despise blacks, as well as other races?

When you can't go to the house of God and worship, you know we are living in dangerous times. The Charleston, South Carolina shooting has shocked the nation and has shown us that the United States of America has some serious issues that have been over looked for too long. From gun control to racism, there are endless conversations that are needed, but that also should be followed by action! For now, we pray for the Charleston community that has been ripped apart by one person's bad choice and poor actions.
