Between April 11 and April 12, 1981, Glenna "Sue" Sharp and three others tragically lost their lives in a violent incident in the resort town of Keddie, California. The case remains unresolved to this day.

On the morning of April 12, 1981, 14-year-old Sheila Sharp came back to her residence at Cabin 28 in the Keddie Resorts in California, having spent time at the neighboring house. What she found inside the small four-room cabin quickly turned into one of the most notorious and unsettling cases in recent American criminal history, commonly referred to as the Keddie murders.

Inside Cabin 28, Sheila discovered the tragic scene of her mother, Glenna “Sue” Sharp, her brother John, and his high school friend, Dana Wingate, who had all suffered fatal injuries. They were bound and had been subjected to severe harm. Additionally, Sheila's 12-year-old sister Tina Sharp was missing from the scene.

In a connected bedroom, the two younger Sharp brothers, Rickey and Greg, along with their 12-year-old friend and neighbor Justin Smartt, were found safe and unharmed. Surprisingly, they seemed to have remained asleep during the tragic events that took place just a short distance from where they were.

The Sharp family had relocated to Cabin 28 just a year earlier. Following her divorce, Sue Sharp moved from Connecticut to Keddie in Northern California with her children. The family included 36-year-old Sue, her 15-year-old son John, 14-year-old daughter Sheila, 12-year-old daughter Tina, and sons Rick, aged 10, and 5-year-old Greg. They had established a friendly rapport with their neighbors at the Keddie resort.
