Today I’m joined by Jordan Foster, head coach at Coopah Run Coach, mum to Gracie and a keen runner.

In our discussion, Jordan provides insight on her incredible journey through the world of running — from overcoming early hurdles of overtraining and burnout, to participating in numerous marathons, and now ultimately finding balance and a healthy approach to the sport.

We discuss how running should be integrated into your lifestyle in a way that enhances your well-being. Often, with self imposed and external pressures, running can sometimes lead to feelings of stress and overwhelm. That's why we emphasise the importance of ensuring that running remains a positive and fulfilling part of your life - something that nourishes you rather than depletes you.

Throughout our conversation, we address common challenges runners face, such as pre-race anxiety and the pressure to meet specific goals. Today, I’m joined by Louis, the founder of Clear For Men - a skincare brand dedicated to raising awareness about mental health.

Louis’s journey to creating Clear For Men began during the lockdown when he found himself grappling with burnout, feeling lost, and lacking direction. His skincare routine became a crucial way to switch off and be present, which ultimately inspired him to create Clear For Men - to encourage men to “Take Five” and prioritise their mental well-being.

In today’s conversation, we discuss the value in normalising conversations circulating mental health and the importance of speaking up in times of distress. Rather than suppressing emotions, hiding away, or isolating ourselves, there’s is immense power in embracing vulnerability, seeking support and being proactive in managing mental health.

We also touch on the human tendency to focus on what we haven’t accomplished, often engaging in negative self-talk and comparing ourselves to others. It’s easy to get stuck in that rut, but in these moments, it’s essential to revisit our values, ensure we’re aligned with what nourishes us rather than what depletes us, and give ourselves credit for our achievements and the obstacles we’ve overcome.

Moreover, we discuss the significance of incorporating regular self-care practices and non-productivity-oriented mindful moments. These habits are vital for maintaining a balanced, flourishing life, and should be embedded and sprinkled into our daily routines to prevent overwhelm and burnout.

Today, I’m joined by Beth, a certified ADHD Life Coach who brings a wealth of personal lived experience as a neurodivergent individual, and has dedicated her career to helping others understand and harness the unique strengths of their neurodivergent minds.

In this episode, we discuss common challenges associated with neurodivergent brains, and how, by working through a strength-affirming perspective, we can reinterpret what we often perceive as challenges into strengths. 

We also discuss the link between neurodivergence and mental health. Neurodivergent individuals often face a world that doesn’t fully embrace differences, with societal norms and barriers reaffirming limiting beliefs - which can amalgamate into significant mental health challenges. 

Thus, Beth emphasises that difference does not mean deficit, highlighting the need to change societal perceptions. By dismantling these barriers, altering society’s problematic concept of ‘normal’ and fostering inclusive, psychologically safe cultures, we can promote authentic living and improve mental health for neurodivergent individuals.

Beth then details the process of identifying and reframing limiting beliefs, sharing techniques for recognizing, acknowledging, and reframing these beliefs. Throughout she stresses the importance of acceptance and self-compassion as core elements of the journey - in turn  maximising neurodivergent strengths, and helping individuals leverage their unique skills for a more fulfilling life.

Today, I am joined by Michelle, an occupational therapist, to delve into the transformative role of OT in eating disorder recovery. Unlike other therapies that may focus on uncovering past triggers, occupational therapy is proactive, practical, and solution-oriented, grounded in the present moment. 

In our discussion, we explore how recovery isn't just about healing the body or addressing thoughts; it's about rediscovering and rebuilding your identity.


When struggling with ED,  maladaptive behaviours can become so ingrained that they feel like an integral part of who you are. So, recovery involves unlearning a life centred around disordered behaviours and reconstructing a healthier identity and lifestyle. This the slow and steady process of rediscovery, uncovering new routines, finding new sources of joy and fulfilment, reconnecting with old passions, or discovering new interests that were overshadowed by the eating disorder is key for a holistic recovery.

Additionally, we discuss the importance of reintegrating yourself into relationships. It's about ensuring the people around you see you for who you are today, support your recovery journey, and are willing to shift and grow with you.

Throughout this episode, we revisit the concept of living in alignment with your values, detailing how maintaining authenticity and living in accordance with your fundamental principles can lead to a meaningful, purposeful, and authentic life and sustainable, successful recovery.

In today's episode, we have the privilege of sitting down with Rob Hoskins, a former police officer turned keynote speaker, TEDx speaker, and passionate advocate for mental health - to  delve into inspiring stories of resilience, growth, and the pursuit of happiness. 

Rob's journey began in the intense and demanding world of law enforcement. As a police officer, his primary focus was on protecting communities and others, often neglecting his own mental well-being in the process. The constant exposure to stress, negativity, and traumatic incidents took its toll, leaving him emotionally drained and psychologically exhausted.

One of the biggest challenges Rob faced was the pressure to conform to the identity imposed by his uniform and role. This barrier inhibited vulnerability and prevented open discussions about mental health. The fear of judgement and the stigma surrounding masculinity made it difficult for him to seek help or even acknowledge his struggles.

However, Rob's journey took a transformative turn as he embraced the importance of mental health and happiness. He now advocates for openness and encourages others to choose happiness.

So, in our conversation, we explore the seven steps of happiness… discussing concepts of acceptance, self-awareness, aligning one's life with their fundamental beliefs, and surrounding oneself with a supportive social circle, whilst reinforcing that happiness is not merely a destination - but a journey of self-discovery and growth

Today, I am joined by Ali Hollest, a holistic personal and professional development coach, podcaster, triathlon coach, and athlete. Committed to advocating a holistic approach to wellness, Ali aims to inspire both physical and psychological performance.

A highlight of our talk is Ali's recounting of the "Snowdon 6 Ways Challenge," an incredible endurance event he designed to honour the memory of his friend, Milo. He details this gruelling challenge, covering 80km and over 5200m of ascent, with limited rest between legs. Supported by a team of close friends and an incredible crew, This challenge not only showcased human resilience but also the power of community and support, capturing the essence of what Ali advocates.

"To cut a colourful story short, I have felt lost, I have thrived, I have grieved, I have made more than my fair share of mistakes.  I have been in some incredibly low lows yet also reached some brilliant high highs.  My life is in no way perfect and I don't believe it ever will be.  However I am happy in the knowledge that I live every day the best that I can, drawing on all my past and present experience.
From a young age sport has always been a constant in my life, whether playing, coaching or supporting.  I believe there is so much sport can give us, not just the physical and physiological benefits.  Sport challenges us, makes us problem solve, learn the benefits and growth from winning and losing.  It enables us to create relationships that stretch far beyond the sporting arena.  

My employment history has been, well, let's say varied.  From the early years of hospitality across Europe, to bushcraft and survival skills, to setting up and running my businesses I feel I have learnt a heck of a lot along the way.  You know what? I've set up businesses that have thrived.  I've also set up businesses that really haven't!  It's all part of the jigsaw puzzle that will keep on needing to be taken apart and built back up again!"

Today I'm joined by Alex, a former police officer, who courageously shares his journey through mental ill health.

Alex opens up candidly about his struggles with mental health, feeling lost, like a burden, and experiencing extreme lows, including contemplating taking his own life.

He attributes much of this struggle to the accumulated stressors and traumas witnessed while working in the police force. Due to the culture of silence within the service, Alex didn't feel comfortable speaking up or seeking help, fearing it would expose perceived weaknesses and compromise his reputation of masculinity and strength. As a consequence, his issues only progressed - he was medically discharged due to psychological trauma.

However, Alex eventually reached a breaking point where he realised he needed to start dealing with his mental health issues. Through the intervention of a psychologist, he gained heightened self-awareness, learned practical coping mechanisms, steadily removed the layers of shame associated with mental illness, and the strength found in vulnerability.

Today, inspired by his experience, Alex is motivated to destigmatize mental health. Hence, he co founded The BroProject, focuses on creating safe spaces that are free of judgement, egos and stigma, ultimately prioritising a sense of togetherness, community, and conversation. 

Finally, we discuss the necessity of prioritising one's mental health, emphasising the transformative power of looking after your wellbeing and investing in yourself.

Taking time for self-care activities isn't indulgent, but rather an essential practice for recharging and equipping oneself  to navigate life's daily challenges. And while there may be feelings of guilt associated, it's vital to recognise the immense value in scheduling time for activities that promote self-compassion and personal development.

This will ultimately allow you to thrive, show up as the best version of yourself, creating a stronger foundation from which to support others and contribute positively to the world around us.
