  • Kent Non-League Podcast - Episode 264
Thanks to the good (and by that I mean absent) people of Gatwick air traffic control, this week's show is shorter and contains only half of your usual presenting team - but two good interviews make up for it. It's an unbeaten start to life at Cray Valley PM for Steve McKimm, and he is now getting ready for a big FA Cup tie against Northwood on Saturday - he discusses that tie, life in the Isthmian South East and why he's loving life with the Millers. Faversham scored nine unanswered goals in their two games this week and are up to fifth in the table - we hear from boss Sammy Moore about why it took his team a bit of time to settle and his hopes for a successful season. There's all the rest of the news after a goal-laden week in the SCEFL, and a look ahead to this weekend's big FA Cup ties, while Frasier and Sweden is about as far as the non-football chat goes...

  • Kent Non-League Podcast - Episode 263
A bumper show after a packed weekend of football, with the FA Cup taking centre stage. Top of the bill were Ramsgate, who shocked Isthmian Premier League leaders Chatham with a 5-1 away win - captain for the day and two-goal hero Joe Taylor reflects on the win, his well-taken goals and discusses his summer decision to return home. A rare defeat for the Chats, and their boss Kevin Hake admits he was disappointed to go out of the cup, but is hoping it's just a blip. Next up for the Chats is a home game with Cray Wanderers, whose start to the season mirrors Chatham - they've lost all five league games but won 5-1 in the FA Cup. Wands boss Neil Smith talks us through the challenges he's faced so far this term and the bright future off the pitch at the club with work in full flow at their new stadium. Erith & Belvedere were knocked out of the Cup - but it took a replay for Hastings to beat Matt Longhurst's side - Nigel Jones spoke to the Deres boss after the initial tie ended all square and he reflected on their improved performance in the goalless draw. We've got all rest of the news and action from across the county, including a rubbish week in the National League South and goals aplenty in the SCEFL, for a change. Plus there's all the usual chat and nonsense, including Gladiators, The Kardashians, Matt's bizarre hatred and loads more besides.

With Matt still on holiday (maybe we need to assess his pay and conditions), Radio Wings' main man Nigel Jones joins Jon to discuss another fascinating week in non-league football in Kent. We hear from both managers after the cup clash between Lydd Town and Deal Town was abandoned with eight minutes left to play - and will be replayed on Monday. Lydders joint-boss James Rogers discusses his side's performance in the game that was played, their fine start to life in the SCEFL and what tempted him back to management. Deal Town boss Steve King was sent off at the break of that clash on Saturday and he tells us about the bad luck that has hit his side so far this season, what he did after being sent off and his belief that things will turn around. Nigel's Welling have lost all four of their National League South fixtures so far but boss Danny Bloor tells him that the Wings are still upbeat, even though results are not matching performances just yet. We've got all the rest of the news from the FA Cup and the league programme and look ahead to a busy weekend which has some questionable scheduling from the National League. Plus there's lots of the usual chat and nonsense including farts, bad drivers, train passengers, It's a Sin and loads more besides.
