The Project On Government Oversight downloaded and analyzed data from USAspending.gov that the nonprofit group says in a report released on Tuesday shows over 74% – $712.6 billion – of $958.6 billion in domestic grant spending from fiscal 2024 couldn’t be tracked to the local level.

The Trump administration confirmed with Just the News that the lack of accountability shown in the report's findings is why new rules have been proposed for federal grantmaking, and they comport with those at the Office of Management and Budget.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Tuesday he’s stopping more than $1 billion in federal Medicaid payments to California and Minnesota over suspected fraud.

“We are not sending Medicaid dollars out the door until we have confidence that they are being spent lawfully and appropriately,” Kennedy said at an announcement on Tuesday.

Kennedy said if California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) want the money to fund low-income healthcare, “they need to provide documentation that these payments are legitimate.”

A Georgia city’s youngest-ever mayor was temporarily stripped of his duties and privileges amid an investigation over his alleged spending – less than a year after being elected on a campaign premised around accountability and transparency. 

Jayden Williams, the 22-year-old mayor of Stockbridge, Ga., was ordered to hand over his city-issued credit cards by Monday at noon due to his spending, but failed to meet the deadline, Atlanta News First reported.

Stockbridge city council officials launched a probe into Williams after “information” was presented to finance officials and the city attorney, without divulging further.

Intellectuals come up with some of the dumbest ideas. 

Have you ever met somebody who was really smart?

And I mean REALLY smart.

Not “I read a book once and now I’m going to ruin Thanksgiving” smart.

I mean genuinely gifted.

You say something, and they can spit out facts, figures, studies, dates, names, formulas. And they’re not bragging. They just know it.

Those people are fascinating.

But then there’s another kind of person.

This is the guy who learned something yesterday and wants to impress you with it today.

He gives you the thumbnail version of a subject, but presents it like he did his graduate dissertation on it.

You ask one question, and suddenly you discover the man has never actually thought about the subject.

He has merely encountered vocabulary.

And folks, that brings me to the modern Left.

Because one of the great misconceptions of our time is that Leftists are stupid.

They're not necessarily stupid.

Some of them are extraordinarily intelligent.

I know people on the Left who are brilliant scientists, engineers, doctors, mathematicians, researchers.

They can explain molecular biology to you while you’re still trying to remember what a mitochondria does.

But then you ask them about politics.

And suddenly the intellectual horsepower disappears.

It's like watching a Ferrari pull up to a gas station and discover the driver has no idea what gasoline is.

How does that happen?

Because intelligence in one discipline does not automatically transfer to every other discipline.

You can be a brilliant physicist and have the political instincts of a Golden Retriever chasing a ceiling fan.

And I think a major reason for this is academia.

Because academia doesn't just teach people facts.

It teaches them frameworks.

It teaches them what questions are respectable, what conclusions are enlightened, what opinions are sophisticated, and which ideas are beneath consideration.

Argentina before Milei: decades of economic self-sabotage

Argentina wasn't a poor country that suddenly discovered poverty. It was once one of the world's wealthiest economies. The long-term problem was a political-economic model that repeatedly combined huge government spending, deficits, monetary financing, price and currency controls, protectionism, subsidies, and increasingly heavy regulation.

By the time Javier Milei won in November 2023, the accumulated damage was extraordinary:

The IMF's description of the situation inherited by Milei is unusually blunt: "dangerously acute" imbalances and distortions, resulting from inconsistent and expansionary policies. 

That's the environment in which Milei's message of burn down the economic establishment resonated.

He wasn't elected because Argentines suddenly became libertarian philosophers. They had lived through enough economic dysfunction that the political equivalent of throwing a brick through the window started looking attractive.

What Milei actually did

Milei came in December 2023 and immediately attacked the core problem: government spending and monetary disorder.

His government imposed severe fiscal discipline, reduced subsidies and spending, deregulated portions of the economy, loosened trade restrictions and foreign-exchange controls, and pursued monetary stabilization.

And, importantly, it hurt initially.

But the macroeconomic results have been striking.

There are certain things you learn as a kid that you don't realize are propaganda until you're old enough to have your BS detector calibrated.

I grew up believing America was the good guy.

Not "generally the good guy."

I mean, if America did something, there was probably a pretty good reason.

Government wasn't perfect, but surely there were certain things the United States government simply would not do.

They wouldn't experiment on citizens.

They wouldn't manipulate an entire population.

They wouldn't manufacture narratives.

They wouldn't use the media to shape public opinion.

They certainly wouldn't lie to you and then tell you the lie was necessary for your own protection.

Then you grow up.

You read history.

And eventually you have that wonderful moment where you realize:

"Wait a minute. Everybody's been lying to everybody."

It's a tremendous educational experience.

It's also why I'm skeptical when somebody tells me, "There's nothing to see here."

Because historically, "nothing to see here" has been one of the most successful marketing campaigns ever created.

And that's what I want to talk about today.

Propaganda.

Because we've been taught to think propaganda is some obvious Soviet poster with a heroic worker staring into the distance while holding a hammer the size of a Buick.

But modern propaganda is much more sophisticated.

Modern propaganda doesn't necessarily tell you what to believe.

Sometimes it tells you what you're not allowed to question.

That's much more effective.

Can Democrats do anything right?

I mean, seriously.

Look at their offspring.

Because every time I think the Democratic Party has finally reached the bottom of the barrel, somebody hands them a shovel.

And they start digging.

Now, I want to be careful here because I don't know every fact in every case I'm about to discuss. But I know what I'm seeing. I know what's flooding my news feed. And I know that some of these stories are so bizarre that if you wrote them into a screenplay, the producer would send them back and say, "Kevin, that's not believable."

Take Karmelo Anthony.

This is the young man convicted of murdering Austin Metcalf, a 17-year-old athlete, after a confrontation at a high school track meet.

Anthony's lawyers wanted a new trial.

And one of the issues surrounding the case was the racial makeup of the jury. No Black jurors were selected, and prosecutors struck three prospective Black jurors. (KERA News)

So naturally, this became another racial grievance story.

Because apparently we're supposed to believe that America is still living in 1860.

The Democratic Party keeps reaching backward for its explanation of America.

Slavery.

Jim Crow.

Segregation.

They can't seem to get past 1963 long enough to notice that it's 2026.

And here's the part that makes this story even more interesting.

The judge just denied Anthony's request for a new trial.

Denied it.

And during the proceedings, additional evidence came out that jurors had never heard, including an allegation that Anthony had previously sent a text fantasizing about stabbing someone. (The Washington Post)

Now, I'm not going to pretend I know everything that happened in that case.

But I will tell you this:

When your argument starts with, "There weren't enough Black people on the jury," and then the conversation moves to evidence about whether the defendant had previously fantasized about stabbing somebody...

Well...

That's a pretty dramatic plot twist.

Last week gave us a little preview of the 2026 midterms, and I think the political class is going to get this wrong.

They'll look at individual races. They'll talk about turnout. They'll talk about fundraising. They'll talk about "momentum." They'll pull out some internal poll showing Democrats within striking distance somewhere and tell you the midterms are going to be a referendum on Donald Trump.

Fine.

But I want to ask a different question:

What did Democratic voters actually do when they had the opportunity to choose their candidates?

Because that is where things get interesting.

Start with Florida.

Alexander Vindman lost the Democratic Senate primary to Angie Nixon.

Now, this isn't a Republican victory over Vindman. Republicans didn't defeat him. Democrats did.

And that's considerably more interesting.

Vindman was practically manufactured in a Washington laboratory as the anti-Trump candidate. He was the decorated Army officer who became a central figure in Trump's first impeachment. He had national recognition. He had establishment credibility. He had money.

A lot of money.

Vindman raised more than $16 million. Nixon raised less than $1 million.

And Democratic voters chose Nixon by roughly 56 percent to 44 percent. (The Guardian)

Think about what that means.

Democrats were handed a candidate who was tailor-made to appeal to the anti-Trump constituency they have spent years cultivating.

And they rejected him.

I got a list of things corruption by Democrats, and I was astounded.

I know that Republicans commit crimes, but I DARE you to compare it to Democrats.

There is something fascinating about watching political parties talk about morality.

Because Democrats spent years presenting themselves as the adults in the room.

The ethical party.

The party of institutions.

The party that was supposedly going to save democracy from corruption.

So let's open the file.

And I'm going to leave this list intact because this is the list we're tracking, but individual allegations should be described accurately as indictments, charges, investigations, convictions or guilty pleas rather than treated as interchangeable:

There is a lot of talk about DSA candidates, as if left of crazy is something new.

There is not.

All Democrats have really done is create a label for the most visible faction of their party. They call them DSA. They call them democratic socialists. They call them progressives. They call them the activist wing.

But the ideas did not suddenly arrive with the label.

The question is not whether DSA is different from Democrats.

The question is how different DSA is from Democrats.

For years, Democratic politicians have defended or embraced positions involving abolishing ICE, defunding or radically restructuring police departments, dramatically increasing taxes, expanding government income guarantees, decriminalization, lax enforcement, open-border policies and an ever-expanding welfare state.

Choice. Different choice. Expanded healthcare in a controversial way.

The DSA faction simply says the quiet part louder.

And now Democrats have a problem.

They want America to believe that a radical faction has broken away from the Democratic Party because the Democratic Party somehow wasn't progressive enough.

That is the story.

The reality is more complicated.

Because the DSA movement is not appearing in a vacuum. It is emerging from inside the Democratic coalition.

And that is why Democrats want to put some distance between themselves and DSA.

My therapist says I have a preoccupation with vengeance. We'll see about that. I really do. Hope it's somebody we want to see. But you know what? Son of a gun.

Who's going to replace her? She's really good. She's one of the best press secretaries ever. Maybe the best in modern history, to be honest with you. But who's gonna replace her? I think they need a dude now. Yeah. 

I mean, Carolyn Leavitt, you know, she's like Nancy Lieberman. She could almost get into the NBA. But I think when you have a guy, think about like a Scott Jennings, he's good. Or Stephen Miller. Stephen Miller probably wouldn't be as good because Stephen is really brash and he's got this way of talking about things where he's, and then the president said, so it's kind of like shouting at you. Scott Jennings is more reserved. I would, between the two, I'd probably take Scott Jennings. You guys would, yeah, my producers agree. So Scott Jennings, he'd be a good pick. 

Who else? I mean, there's some good people out there. And Scott Jennings was a Mitch McConnell guy. So you almost want more rhinos to get inside and see how things work with a real presidency versus some of these institutional guys, these establishment people. I don't, no disrespect, but they just don't, they don't hack, they don't know how to fight. Glad you guys are with me. We talked about being woke in the previous hour and how the left is waking up from woke. 

Hey, I've got some good news. They're going to probably go after these FBIs. They had 14 informants on Biden corruption. They ran a secret disinformation campaign. They'll probably be firing those guys. Here's another one. 

Here's a stat, something that should make you feel good. Food stamp enrollment cratered 5.3 million under President Trump. 5.3 million less people getting snapped. So figuring they get, I don't know what they get. What do they get? A few $100 a month? They got 1000 bucks a month for food, which would be a lot, right? 

That's 5.3 billion. So do the math, cut it in half, whatever it may be. If they get $500 a month from SNAP, I don't know. I just know this. I'd like to have a SNAP card. Kevin, wouldn't you be embarrassed? No, why would I be embarrassed? I'd be getting my money back. I've got thousands of dollars. in the government that I gave back. I want my money back. And then I look at what they spend it on, shoot, I want triple my money back. I don't know about you guys. Anyway, Arizona, the biggest drop, 54.8% decrease in SNAP. That's how, think about that. 

That's gotta be some illegals.
