Cecilia calls herself a recovering perfectionist and overachiever. She found herself checking off all the so called boxes in life and in doing so she fell into the perfectionist trap. Through university, the dream job, Mr. Right, the house with the white picket fence, the travels – you name it, she checked it off. Then, life threw her a curveball and at 36, she found herself widowed. This was not apart of her perfect plan.
That's when she learned that perfection is just a load of... well, you know. The promise was that if she did everything right, she would get the prize of a happy life. Turns out, life doesn't play by those rules. Grief taught her the hard way that perfection leads to disconnection – disconnection from herself and others. But here's the juicy part: connection, that messy, beautifully human experience, is the road to fulfillment. She claims that once we're authentically connected to ourselves, we can forge real, genuine connections with others.
In this episode we cover:
Courage is not linear
Choosing to live and to love oneself after grief
The gifts that come with grief
How grief teaches you to have very clear boundaries
How love and grief intertwines
How to make space for grief
How to support someone that is grieving

It takes a lot of courage to live, and a part of living is waiting……. Have you ever experienced waiting for something? How did that feel? What emotions or feelings arise when you are waiting for something.
Not all waiting is the same but it takes courage. In this solo episode I dig into the current season of waiting that I am exploring. Waiting is not a waste of time, it is a form of growth. Why do we find ourselves wanting to rush through the process to get to the end result? We often find ourselves not wanting to experience the waiting, we want to get to the end result as fast as possible.

This episode comes from the Cultivate with Chelsea Podcast, my conversation with my dear friend Chelsea Barbine evolves around the immense learnings, resilience, and trust that have come from life after birth.
As I prepare for my upcoming labor and delivery of my second baby, we reflect on the challenges we both encountered from delivery through the early stages of toddlerhood, of our first experiences. We hone in on change being inevitable and the sense of resistance or embracing change and to release the desire for the sense of control. I share my intentions to approach postpartum differently based on the insights gained from my first experience.
Chelsea is on a mission to help other postpartum women embrace motherhood without sacrificing their sleep, sanity or self-identity. Chelsea has recently launched her Chelsea’s Nested and Nourished Postpartum Guide. and The Cultivate Crew Chelsea is so generous and offering the Kindred Journey family a discount on the Core Care Cultivate Products. As a client of hers I am so excited to share with you 15% off her products with the discount code KIND15. I can confidently say I am walking into this next season of my postpartum journey with the tools and support that I need.
