+++ WHY NOT BREAK IT +++
Have you ever said or heard someone say, "If it's not broken ... (finish the sentence)
Yes, if you said, "don't fix it" you are correct. Move to the head of the line. :-)
I've heard that a number of times and I have even adhered to that mindset at times more so in the past.
Playing it safe was the motto of the day for me and for those who will use that statement.
But should we break it just to fix it? Hmmh. What sayest thou?
In this episode, you'll discover why breaking it might be a good thing once you are able to master these 3 Cs.

+++ BEHAVE YOURSELF +++
Have anyone ever said to you, "behave yourself?"
When you hear these words now, what comes to your mind?
For me, it's like someone reprimanding a child. It's a parent trying to "straighten" their child out. It's getting him or her to do what's right.
But, do you hear a condescending tone in those words?
Why is it that some leaders speak to their team members as if they are a little child or in a condescending way? It may surprise you as to their reason.
In this episode, you'll hear why they do so and how effective is this approach.

+++ SLIP OF THE TONGUE, MAYBE? +++
Have you ever said something that you didn't realize you said until much later? I have.
As someone who speaks a lot and records quite a bit of my speaking, I will hear something that I said, which wasn't what I really intended to say. Sometimes I misspeak, quote the wrong person, forget to come back to a point I was making, and more.
If someone had told me that I did, I would fight them tooth and nail, denying that I did. Haha.
Don't laugh. You've done it too.
In this episode, you'll discover that it happens to the best of us. Take heart.

+++ DIVERSITY CONUNDRUM +++
There is a buzz about diversity that is more prevalent now than ever before.
Businesses, organizations, and other entities are offering sensitivity training for their team members, to make sure they become more understanding of other people groups.
The problem I find is that when this training is offered or mentioned, it tend to elevate one particular group over another and use diversity as the covering for the advancement of that group. This is problematic on many fronts.
Who decides which group gets more attention? Should anyone group get more attention than the other?
These are some of the tough issues discussed in this episode. [WARNING: You could be offended]

+++ BOSS HOGG +++
You might not be old enough to remember the TV show "The Dukes of Hazzard" or just maybe you do.
I'm going to assume you do because only you would be able to appreciate this analogy.
Sorrell Booke was an American actor who played the role as corrupt politician Jefferson Davis aka "Boss" Hogg." He was a one-of-a-kind "boss." I found him to be hilarious.
He played his role very well. His style of leadership was the in-thing at the time.
However, it would not and does not work today. The "I'm the boss" kind of leadership, no longer works.
In this episode, guest educator - Heather Vickery at www.Vickeryandco.com, and I tackled this topic. Listen to hear what we discussed.

+++ LEADERS DOOMSDAY +++
Doomsday?
That seems so extreme to put leaders and doomsday together. But is it possible that some leaders are creating their own doomsday?
Dictionary dot com gives this definition of the word doomsday: a time or event of crisis or great danger.
That is exactly what will happen to leaders who skip this most important leadership step of all. What is that you say?
I could tell you what it is here, but you won't appreciate what I have to say, without having a context for it.
So, I've made this audio, outlining what the step is and what to do about it.

+++ NO SUCH THING +++
Let's be clear: there is no such thing as "leadership genes" just in case you are wondering.
However, the way some leaders are able to lead, one would wonder if they have such a gene.
How else do you explain it?
Some leaders struggle in their leadership role and they spend their time looking for a reason to "blame" it on.
In this podcast episode, I attempt to dismantle this erroneous thought along with others that hampers Emotelligent leadership. What's that? Emotelligent leadership? Hmm.

+++ THEY'RE GONE JUST LIKE THAT +++
Have you ever wondered where some of your team-mates, co-workers, friends or others went?
Having worked in large and medium size organizations, I've seen people come and go. The sad part is that I'll show up to work one day and that person or those people are no longer there. They "disappeared."
And even sadder is finding out the reason why they left.
The crazy thing is that they were the best members of the team.
Why did they leave?
In this episode you'll discover why the best people leave organizations and as a leader, how to keep that from happening to you..

Do you think all leaders could be remembered as an unforgettable leader?
Is there anyone that you would give this label?
Ok. I know that's a lot of questions, but I hope you took a pause and gave some thought to it because this is something you want to work towards for more reasons than one.
