One week after an apartment security guard in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood was shot in the face by a suspect who was seen damaging and prowling a near-by building along 85th Street, neighbors gathered last night at The Taproot Theater with a city council member, Dan Strauss, and a State Representative, Noel Frame. After the meeting, many people in attendance voiced their frustration that Strauss and Frame weren't offering faster solutions to their public safety concerns about crime and homelessness in the area around the Fred Meyer on 85th Street. The groups Let's Go Washington and Restore Washington are both collecting voter signatures to submit to the Secretary of State's office before 2023.
