It’s been 2 weeks since my surgery, but honestly it’s felt like 2 months! I suck at resting. I know that sounds silly cause you literally just lay there, but it’s hard! We’re told to always be productive to move our lives forward, but when life says you need to slow down, what do we do? We ignore the red flag and go harder. We gotta knock that shit off.

Today we're chatting with my sorority line sister, Caro Gutierrez, AKA one of the bravest women I know! Caro shares her story about what it was like to come out as a queer Latina and how our Mexican culture doesn't necessarily make it easy. It takes a lot of strength to accept yourself for who you are, especially when society and religions say you shouldn't. You don't want to miss out on hearing this amazing story! The day is finally here! It’s 3am and I’m having gallbladder surgery in a few. I’ve been so sick with bloating and nausea over the past few months that I just really had a break down and decided to give up on trying to be healthy. It’s exhausting trying to lose weight. It’s exhausting managing my diabetes. But whether you have a chronic illness or are trying to look your best on your wedding day, don’t give up on yourself. You’re allowed to bitch and complain, but not quit. I’m never gonna give you up so don’t give up on yourself either!

We make a million decisions in our lifetime, but they’re not always as easy as “would you like some cake?”, which is obviously a YASS. Making tough decisions isn’t easy, but here are some tips from how I’ve made tough decisions in the past. You got this!

There are two modes you can be in at any given time in your life: survival mode or thrive mode. Oh, you can also switch between modes at any point! Life is about these ups and downs, so today we’ll chat about what each mode looks like and how to use them to “go with the flow”.

Taking care of a sick parent is tough. It can be a long, painful journey that doesn’t have a happy ending. But it can also be a string of beautiful memories with your loved ones. Holy crap I almost forgot it’s Thursday! I didn’t have anything planned for today so I automatically labeled myself a failure. Way to go. But failing forward is honestly the only way to move forward. In life. In creating a podcast. So let’s talk about what it means to fail forward.
