And yet, year after year, I keep booking it. But since I last talked about the dessert party, things have changed. There are new themed desserts, some little upgrades that make the experience feel more Disney, and now the Disney Starlight Parade adds a whole new layer to planning your Magic Kingdom night. So, is the Happily Ever After dessert party still worth the splurge? Especially if you’re doing Disney World with kids? If you’re planning Disney World with kids, have never seen Happily Ever After, or know that the fireworks are a big priority for your family, I still think the Happily Ever After dessert party can absolutely be worth the splurge. It’s expensive, but for our family, some of our favorite Disney memories have happened while waiting for those fireworks to begin. Our EPCOT day was a perfect example of what Disney World with kids can actually look like. We were juggling different ages, Rider Switch, ride closures, a stroller nap, changing dining plans, and an Epcot lightning lane strategy that helped us fit in Soarin', Living with the Land, Test Track, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure without feeling like we were rushing from ride to ride. In this episode, we cover:How we approached our Epcot lightning lane strategy and used Standby Skipper to grab Remy's for later in the dayWhy planning indoor breaks, playgrounds, and downtime matters when doing Disney world with kidsWhat to expect from Disney World when it rains, including the mistake I made when packing our rain gearWhy flexibility ended up being one of the biggest lessons from this entire Disney trip report Our departure day was also a reminder that Disney World when it rains doesn't have to ruin your plans.
