  • OPERATION COMBAT COVID: SEX AND INTIMACY DURING THE PANDEMIC With Coach Cherrea Williams

    · Keywords: connection, stress, pandemic

    · Hashtags: #sexualhealth, #COVID19, #relationships

Is the fire of passion still burning within you and your partner? What could have been the reason for burn out? Stress? Lack of communication? Third-parties? Lost of trust? Gather your thoughts and think twice before making the worst decision you will ever make. This pandemic has made the couples who were previously disconnected due to responsibilities and day-to-day activities be given the chance to rekindle the flame that was slowly dying out. Use the silver-lining of the pandemic as an opportunity to ignite the emotions and connect with your loved ones, once more.

    Sex vs. Intimacy

    09:01

You do not have to be intimate to have sex. There have been instances in my life where I had sex and I was not intimate. It’s all a mental space of where you are and it is about your vulnerability. You can be intimate with someone and never have sex with them either.

    10:01

Intimacy is your sharing in a more powerful space, and to have sex while being intimate is the perfect combination.

    10:16

There’s healing in sex. There will be a time where you need to have some reassurance and comfortability in a time of chaos. What better way than to embrace the one you are truly in love with and share at that moment with intimacy and sex.

    14:16

Most people consider sex as an essential element. It has a relational intimacy, which is the key to personal fulfillment and is crucial to the longevity of our relationship. Sex can be a relationship vitality and also a conflict.

    Models of Communication

    14:57

The Disillusionment Model, where you cannot stop putting your hands off with one another. It’s filled with bliss, it’s new and it’s amazing. But as time passes by, the “newness” wears down. You start to wake up, open your eyes and start to see things that you don’t like about the other person.

    15:55

The Emergent Distress Model, where couples are usually highly affectionate. They overlook problems but then start to view a difficulty with the other person. They view each other in difficulty hence creating a scenario where one would use a situation like the COVID19 or other reasons as a way to disengage with one another.

    Importance of Communication

    17:48

It is important to communicate. One of the things that I would not do again if I get married again, is to prevent myself from being tired, not in the mood, and feeling sexy. I would not let those things get in the way.

    20:06

This could be an adverse or negative thing, where people are pacifying their feelings. They are using their negative coping mechanisms and they would be out there, having sex without their significant other.

    20:37

There are other viruses out there that are as deadly as the COVID19 as well. So, we definitely need to think as we journey through this pandemic, as it relates to our sexual activity and who we are with.

    Re-ignite the Flames Again

    24:46

Use this opportunity to connect with your significant other, so that you can help alleviate the stressors.

    25:10

The best strategy that would help to communicate, is to communicate with your feelings, desires, vulnerability, emotions, and get really close with one another.

    25:34

The reality is that you have to accept what is happening and where you are right now. Adjust and make most of the situation to get control. Through this, it would empower and motivate you to keep going and deal with trauma in this pandemic.

  • OPERATION COMBAT COVID: HOW TO F.A.C.E. C.O.V.I.D. DURING AND AFTER THE PANDEMIC

    · Keywords: FACE, COVID, Strategy, Connect, Focus, Acknowledge, Engage, Open

    · Hashtags: #facecovid #facecovidstrategy

    What is “FACE COVID”?

    4:21

It is a mind, body, and spirit strategy that can help us and eliminate the emotional, mental, and physical effects. Maybe not the actual virus itself, but how can you take control back and combat COVID. Developed by Russ Harris using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

    The “FACE COVID” Strategy

    F = Focus

    6:02

Focus on what you can control and not what you cannot. Being in control gives you the momentum and power to be present, and to safeguard your well-being and mind. Be focused, make a decision to be in control of what you can control.

    6:44

You're going to have to make a decision that you're going to stay focused no matter what in the end goal and what you want to see happen.

    A = Acknowledge your Thoughts

    6:54

Acknowledge how you're really feeling and identify what you're thinking. Acknowledge them instead of avoiding them. Stop avoiding and pretending that your feelings, thoughts, or your reactions don't exist. Doing that contradicts your dealt and current reality. Therefore, check-in with yourself and wonder how the thoughts are serving you. And what it is allowing you to do.

C = Connect with your Body

    8:06

Connect back with your body. You are the Genesis. You start with yourself first and then everything else will follow. So come back and connect with your body and move your body. There's something that's called Body Sculpting. If you cannot verbalize your thoughts and feelings, then sculpt them.

    9:25

Make sure that you exercise your body and move your body around. Do right by your body, do what you have to do, and make sure that you are connecting and coming back to your body.

    E = Engage

    9:39

Engage. Get a sense of what you are doing, thinking, and feeling. Notice where you are in the here and now and refocus your attention to center on what is going on in that very moment.

    9:58

If you think of the past, that depression, and if you think of the future, that’s anxiety, the past has already happened and there’s nothing that we can do and the future hasn’t even happened yet.

    C = Committed Action

    12:25

Committed action. This is really important because effective action is guided by your core values. So what you can do whether big or small to improve your life, and for yourself and others in your community. That means that you are aligning with your core values.

    O = Opening Up

    13:28

Opening up and making room for opening up to difficult feelings. Acknowledging your feelings as a normal process and considering kind words to say to yourself and support yourself and to others. Be open to what the feelings are telling you. They may be so painful. No one wants to deal with pain but nevertheless, sit in it. Because it's in sitting in that in the midst of it, your answers do truly come.

    V = Values

    17:32

Values mean that you have the values. Let your values guide your committed actions to demonstrate what you stand for in the face of crisis. Let your values guide the way.

    I = Identify

Identify your resources. You have plenty of resources that you can use to help you along the way. Identifying your resources, identifying your support system, and identifying the information that you need.

    D = Disinfect

    19:14

Disinfect and distance. So pretty much it means to stay safe and sanitize. Stay Safe, Stay sane, and sanitized so making sure that you do the proper procedures and make sure you’re washing your hands and not touching your face.

  • OPERATION COMBAT COVID: HOW TO CONTROL CHAOS BY CREATING CALM IN YOUR LIFE

How to Control Chaos by Creating Calm in your Life

    Keywords: freedom, attitude, pandemic

    Hashtags: #inspiration, #covid19

How do you conduct yourself during the pandemic? Have you succumbed to negativity? Fear of the unknown? Uncertain of the things that might happen to you and your family? You are not alone during this battle. We embrace ourselves during the pandemic and pray to the heavens above, that our Lord Savior will grant to us his almighty protection. Give yourself time to take a deep breath. Believe that we will all get through the disaster that has dawned upon us until this day. Together, we shall face the unknown and bring forth the miracle that will shine through our very own hands.

    No Man is an Island

    01:19

It is about time to free ourselves from any type of limitation. Free ourselves from any type of rules that we have bounded ourselves into. That we have justified ourselves and go by for the best interest for everyone.

    04:00

I was an achiever. I love to do many things and, in my mind, there is nothing that I could do. I was determined and a go-getter. It was just me being in my nature.

    04:32

I was living at my best self when I was young, but I felt overlooked. Because of the fact that I was doing well, it was interpreted as I have no need for guidance or attention. Even with those who do exceptionally well, we are still human.

    05:26

The fact that I could be exceptional at what I do, does not mean that I am an island to myself.

    06:03

Everybody has been affected by this pandemic. We are globally at loss, we are seemingly at the wits end, and we just don’t know what to do.

The State of our Mind, Body and Spirit during the Pandemic

    08:16

One of the main things that bother us the most is that we are not feeling like we are in control of our own selves. We are at loss and we just don’t know how to have any control of the situation.

    08:54

If you cannot control it, you cannot control it. Don’t put your energy into what you cannot control. Put your energy on the vibrations that you can control.

    10:51

We fight to take control of things back. We will be in fight mode.

    10:54

Everything always starts here. We can change the behavior all we want, but we seem to go back and revert to what we know. It controls our behavior, it controls our attitude, it controls who we are.

    11:40

It’s about time to be in alignment with yourself coming to know who you are, how you think, and how you behave. There is nothing that could surprise you or shock you, you will know how to roll with the punches no matter what comes your way.

    13:38

We seem to avoid what is unfamiliar, avoid what really seems to hurt us. If we don’t have an answer to something, we’re going to come up with the answer, because we cannot move on any further until we have an answer to whatever questions that we have.

    Our Brain is Limitless

    17:56

While our brain is a powerful matter, it is interesting how our brain serves us and its capacity to limit us. We have to know the fine line between how it serves us and how it limits us. It serves us in the capacity that everything is limitless.

    19:17

I’m the type of person that I won’t know unless I do it. How else will I know unless I do it. I always believe that experience is the best teacher.

Key Essentials to a True Self

    19:59

You have to first pay attention to how you’re thinking, how you are feeling and how you are behaving. This will keep it simple.

    15:16 – 15:32

“But if you stop, stand still, and look up to the glorious salvation of who God is, and start to clear your mind from everything, the downloads can come to you.”

  • OPERATION COMBAT COVID: FACING YOUR FEARS DURING THE PANDEMIC

Facing Your Fear during the Pandemic

    ● Keywords: fear, pandemic, anxiety

    ● Hashtags: #selfcare, #motivateyourself, #agabumaaleh

What are your fears? How do you face your fear? ABC which is Achieve, Become, and Conquer. We’ll talk about how you can really thrive through your trauma and to press pass and to deal with the pandemic in your own individual way but collectively.

    Facing your fears

    11:41

Sometimes the best strategy in facing fear, dealing with phobias, is to face them head-on.

It was like you had me to now sit and face my own narrative that I had in my head that I wasn’t important, that I was good for nothing, that I didn’t have anything going for myself.

I was determined I was all these things but how I felt about myself was a different story.

    13:11

Sitting in it. To face it, to learn from it. You see, I always say this to my clients, that there is no such thing as winning or losing. There’s no such thing. It’s either you win or you learn.

    14:11

If you approach life as saying either I win or I learn, then it’s a win-win situation because learning is a good thing. And so what we learned some bad things along the way, some good things along the way but it was learning.

    15:16

If you’re learning, then that means you’re not sitting with fear. If you move from the fear and now you’re in this learning phase, there’s actually a whole another phase which is growth.

    17:38

Instead of thinking the negative about yourself, how about the positive about yourself and getting to that place that you want.

    18:45

Now, we have to let go of doing those old things that get us nowhere now. We’re tired of that stuff and it doesn’t work for us anymore. Now we just get out of our comfort zone and once we get past the comfort zone, that’s where everything we desire, rains. It rules.

    24:21

So, don’t you want to run on, to see what is going to be in a different light? Not keep getting the same thing, keep doing the same thing, expecting different results.

How you can move from fear

    27:41

Decision. Making a decision to apply. Who do you want to be during this pandemic? Who do you want to become and how do you want to be in this time?

It is one of the biggest issues that people are having is that their autonomy, their right to choose, their will has been compromised.

    32:02

Recognize that there is a problem when you admit that thing, now you’re humble enough, you open it up to now start seeing the solution. Don’t rush because you may not get the solution the way that you want it to be.

    36:05

This is not about temporary fixes, this is actually about being able to sustain that when this thing happens again, you’re now well prepared more than able to deal with it because now we use the time, right now in your learning. Again, that insight, that awareness, the knowledge to now get to a place to understand it.

    50:18

Yes, God is in control, but guess what, he gives us will, the will to do have. He’d given us the power. God gave us the ability to also be in control and because he is within us, then we have that power. Absolutely to change the whole trajectory of this whole entire situation.

    1:09:00

So do what you can to get that momentum, be able to now say, you know that I can do this. I will do this. I shall do this. I am doing this to get to your place of growth.

  • OVERCOMING ANXIETY: Take Back Control, Manage Stress and Beat Anxiety

    Keywords: Anxiety, Overthinking, Pandemic

    Hashtags: #Covid19, #mindset. #motivation

We often find ourselves dwelling over things we cannot control; we find ourselves drowning into our anxieties. Let’s dive deeper to find out how we can set our minds in proper order to deal with Anxiety.

We have Doctor Sarah to help us with this so let’s listen as she unravels how we can overcome anxiety.

What You Are Feeling is Normal

    8:40

It is normal to have a wide range of emotion. Especially this time where everyone is having a hard time. we may not accept what is happening but there is growth. we must consider everything what we are feeling is part of life. when we are able to identify our own feelings, we take a next step to know ourselves.

    9:50

Accepting what happens leads to growth, it is no rush to get to this point of acceptance, it is based on your readiness and mentality. You will know that you have understanding when you are at peace, when you have alignment of your mind, body and soul.

    12:09

We need to accept the feeling and the fact that it is part of life, once we realize this, we will be able to grow from that experience.

    12:30

Name our feelings, we need to recognize what we are feeling and this is an advantage to move to the next step.  We need to know who we are. Once we know what these feelings are coming from it can be easier for us to determine if we can control what we are feeling.

It’s Okay To Be in Discomfort

    15:30

Sit in the pain and these feelings. Your answers will come after you realize this. This is important, this discomfort will set your freedom and will make you grow and create decisions over things you can control.

What is the Difference Between Stress and Anxiety?

    17:00

Stress is a reaction to a perceived threat. stress shows up in your body. Anxiety is a result of irrational thinking patterns or fixating to negativity. You can’t control the way that you think. You need to manage how you manage your stress.

You Can’t Control the Way You Think

    21:50

You become fixated on the results that you are getting, which you need to replace, you need to create an option. Don’t revolve your thinking on things that are out of our control, we must avoid make this our default when we don’t have any choice, we need to create options.

    Types of Anxiety

    22:30

Catastrophizing, it is what your mind is telling you. Threat scanning is where you justify what you are feeling, you scan for your symptoms to verify what you are thinking. Hypothetical worry, basically worrying too much even if you validated everything. Emotional reasoning, your emotions indicate your reality. Fortunetelling you think that what you foresee in the future is true.

    Helpful Tools

    32:00

Tell your self that you are in control of what you are in control. Learn to control all the things that we can manage and veer away from fixating at your problem. It is amazing how our mindset can be.

    34:40

Don’t allow your mindset set you to a place you can’t control. Focus on positive things you can. Exercise and distract yourself.

    39:30

Have a channel to put out your thoughts like journals and set this tool to have an outlet for your thoughts.

    44:15 Start by creating choice

Take this time to create choices around things that is in your control, meditate on how you’ll create your choices around it and take time to realize all things you cannot control.

    Hashtags: #mentalhealthawareness, #selflove, #mentalhealth

Is it really unacceptable to seek professional help when you are mentally unstable? Listen to Dr. Sarah Langley as she addresses the importance of seeking mental therapy during the pandemic. People might judge your actions but they will never know the pain behind the curtain of emotions. Let our minds intertwine towards a discourse of empathy.

    Episode Timeline

    Main Point starts at 5:39

Does a mental therapy have a cultural bias?

    6:14

Some culture has no problems with mental therapy, but the teachings of certain cultures has been ingrained to many, that people who seek mental therapy are demented.

    6:57

Ignorance is not a bliss, it is fatal. We need to change the things taught to us and recondition our mindset.

    The process towards healing

    14:50

Most people will come and just fix the problem but that is not how I operate. I operate in the sense of making sure that you will be taught on how to solve the problem you are facing.

  • It’s OK Not To Be OK Part 2: Acknowledge Your Weakness and Ask for Help

Keywords: positive mindset, subconscious mind, pandemic

    Hashtags: #mindset, #emotion, #anxiety

It’s okay not to be okay, but are you brave enough to admit how you truly feel? Listen to this episode as Dr. Sarah Langley discussed about how the COVID19 Pandemic has affected the mental state of everyone. It might be easy to admit what you feel to other people, but how easy really is it to admit something to yourself? Let’s talk and do a confession to ourselves of how pent-up emotions have brought us here.

    Episode Timeline

Are you really who you are?

    2:32

We all wanted to be happy, to be the best version of ourselves. That’s the mask we all like to wear. But when we turn the camera off, are we really the person we see in the mirror? Are we still the same person?

The might of our subconscious mind

    3:59

Things that we really can’t stop from doing, is due to our failure of convincing our subconscious mind. You might believe you addressed it in your mind, but the habit still goes by. It’s the conviction that exists that keeps you from doing it out of fear and faith.

    4:50

There are times where we can have a positive mindset in a positive standpoint and there are times where we move on to things that we do not acknowledge. But, denying the existence of something is what you wanted to avoid, for it will affect your conscious mind and it will be hard to shake it off.

Instill in our minds why its okay to not be okay

    6:08

Give yourself a moment to let your emotions go. Don’t hold it in. Don’t pretend it does not exist. You will just make it harder for yourself. Give yourself a permission to let go.

    8:04

To all the people working amidst the pandemic and acting like you are okay, even if you are torn apart, its okay to not be okay.

    8:32

It’s one thing to talk to our loved ones, but we just worry because we are afraid of bothering them. Not wanting to be a burden. To desire strength and dislike weakness. It’s okay to be weak, it’s okay to not be okay.

    Key Quotes

    15:06 – 15:20

“The fact that you are strong enough to acknowledge your weakness and ask for help is a sign of strength. Weakness is acting tough, like everything is fine when it’s not.”

    17:02 – 17:09

“We did not anticipate it. We put pressure to ourselves, get upset and beaten due to unpreparedness.”

Stick at the things that you can control because the moment things get out of hand, its daunting how powerless and helpless you become.

    20:31

Recognize how much power you have and never succumb into it, so take control and free yourself from it.

21:17 Emotions are the indicators of what’s going on in your world, how emotions are formed and how it affects your mindset.

    Key Quotes

    17:50 – 18:03

“Don’t succumb to any unexpected changes in your life. Take your time to lament and mourn. Until the time you wake up and face it on.”

    20:00 – 20:05

“Your answers can be found when you align yourself to the natural order.”

    23:01 – 23:11

Don’t pressure yourself to change an event that has happened. What you can do, is to change your responses, reactions and thinking from it.

  • How To Press Past The Pandemic- Interview with Dr. Sarah Renee Langley by Jon'll Bryd of The E Life Experiences

    · Keywords: pandemic, life, adversity

    · Hashtags: #mentalhealth, #quarantinelife, #COVID19

What makes life hard to control during the pandemic? Is it the lack of government assistance? Depression? Family problems? Responsibilities? You need to loosen up and calm down. These lingering thoughts of fear, anger, anxiety and negativities will not help if it takes over. Consider these things as a trial on how to find ourselves and discover the solutions as we unravel the answers within us. We are all together as one as we face this unknown opponent, our own selves.

    The Uncertainty

    03:38

We just don’t know that uncertainty and that’s just human nature. We don’t do well when it is uncertain. We look at the different media and social media outlets, we tried to find out from the government about what was going on, and it seems like everyone is not on the same page.

    04:05

It just adds to that level of anxiety and uncertainty to the point that we have to take matters into our own hands and figure out what is the best thing for us to do for ourselves and for our loved ones.

    06:09

When we lost three elements, loss of control, loss of connection, loss of purpose community, so it is understandable that people are going to react in primal-survival mode.

    06:38

When we get that sense of control back, that puts us in an advantage to make right decisions and choices. Now, it is a matter of our livelihood, our lives and our lifestyles at stake. And we need to decide what will be the best decision for us to make.

Learning ourselves in the face of adversity

    21:43

In the face of adversity, relax. This is a great opportunity to know who you are. In plain view, it might be terrible as I still need put food on the table and bills to pay but this is the opportunity to find out where your resilience lies.

    22:33

The answer is always within us. God would not allow or leave us destitute. We are created and provided with every provision necessary.

    23:25

You need to go ahead and start journaling. Write what is going on right here and right now, so you have a point of reference for yourself and for the next generation and pass down the legacy that this is what we have done when we faced the adversity.

    Overcoming negativity

    30:36

You have that mindset on what is the bigger goal and then the ideas and inspiration will come. Every piece that comes in is nothing compared to what the negative thoughts are trying to tell you.

    34:05

Surround yourself with winners and watch yourself win.

    44:06

This is the time to start adapting and adjusting to deal with our problems.

    48:52

When you find that if you are at a loss and you cannot function in your day-to-day activities for two weeks or a month, it is time to consider a mental health therapist and learn the tips, tools and strategies to work through the trauma on Earth.

    Self-Acceptance leads to Opportunities

    52:37

There’s going to be a place where you want to accept. That this is where you want to be. You may not accept that you lost a loved one, you may not accept that this has happened and you were not prepared for it and you did not know what to do.

    59:53

This is your opportunity to create your calm during this chaos. Opportunity to create what you want to see post-pandemic.
