When life hands me lemons, I squirt life in the eye with the lemons. -- Josh Shipp
[bctt tweet=" When life hands me lemons, I squirt life in the eye with the lemons. -- Josh Shipp"]
I saw Josh Shipp one Sunday morning while watching Sunday Morning. I have been a Sunday Morning fan for many years and watched it faithfully. I would get up early on Sunday, grab my newspaper, fix my coffee and sit down in front of the TV to watch Sunday Morning on CBS. They always have great segments about people, places, and passions.
When I saw Josh, I was amazed at his energy and his message. A great leader for teens and at-risk teens especially.

Here's an interview with Josh on one of my favorite podcasts, Eventual Millionaire with Jaime Tardy.

Make Today a Great Day.
I found this quote from one of my good friends on Facebook. Jon Shumacher posted this on Facebook and I had to add this wise lady's comment as a Quote of the Day.
"Best advice I heard today....
Came from a 90 year old women (who could barely talk)
I asked her if she was worried about her health as she gets older?
She said,"No".
I asked her how she could avoid her worries.
Her answer was epic....
She said,
"I convert all of my worries into goals. Goals are something you can do something about, worries don't do anything." - Wisdom of a 90 Year Old Lady
[bctt tweet="I convert all of my worries into goals. Goals are something you can do something about, worries don't do anything. - Wisdom of a 90 Year Old"]
That really says it all and the biggest take away from the entire conversation is "WORRIES DON'T DO ANYTHING".
A 90 year old lady isn't worried about her health, she isn't worried about anything. That's probably how she's been able to live to be 90.
She turns her worries into goals. What a great concept.
If you are worried about your health, create a goal to maintain it or to change it, whichever it needs to be.
If you are worried about whether you will be able to pay the bills at the end of the month, convert it to a goal that you can create an action plan around, monitor and eventually reward yourself for achieving.
Worries don't do anything.
If you are tired of Worrying About It, You need to create a goal, set an action plan, then monitor your progress to ensure you will complete the goals.
I've put together the Goal Getter Action Plan Worksheet that you can get to do just that. You can get your copy by CLICKING on the Goal Getter Action Plan button below, let us know where to email it to and we will send you your Goal Getter Action Plan right away.

Always Learn, Always Grow" -- Michael Masangkay
[bctt tweet="Always Learn, Always Grow -- Michael Masangkay #Quote #Inspiration #IronMan"]
Michael is a co-worker of mine that recently completed his 2nd Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon in San Francisco. He inspired me when he posted some pictures and told about his experience on our company internal community site.
I interviewed Michael about his experience and how he used goal setting to help him achieve this feat on our Goal Getting Podcast, Episode 20. You can click the link and go back and listen to him tell how he Escaped from Alcatraz the 2nd time.
When I asked Michael what quote hung on his wall, what quote motivates him, he showed me the quote that is on his iPad. He has put his favorite quote on his iPad since he carries that with him all the time.
Michael's Quote, Always Learn, Always Grow, is something I see him doing on a daily basis. It is important to learn from everything we do. Learning allows us to grow, and grow faster. Michael strives hard to grow in his professional life and his personal life. He continues to expand his experiences in the things he loves, Family, Running, Biking, Swimming, and in my opinion excelling!
Always Learn, Always Grow.

Make Today a Great Day.
A couple of the points that Joel discussed that I find inspiring are:
The concept and phrase "Consistent Persistence". You have to continue to persist when you are working on your goals. It ties into the Best Advice Received, below.
The other is "Personal Accountability". I asked Joel about the subject of Mentoring and Mastermind groups, both services that Joel provides to those that want it. But, as he states, there really has to be personal accountability to be able to achieve goals. You have to be able to be accountable to yourself.
Joel uses the mantra of #ResultsOnly #NoExcuses to help us think about how we should have personal accountability.
Best Advice Received:Best Advice I've Received is "To not quit, don't quit." Joel Boggess
Joel discusses the inspiration that the movie, "Facing The Giants" has about not quitting. The coach in the story motivates a football player by having him do bear crawls blindfolded. Why blindfolded?, you ask. Watch the movie. It's available on Netflix DVD.

The two greatest days in your life are the days you were born and the day you find out why. -- Mark Twain
[bctt tweet="The two greatest days in your life are the days you were born and the day you find out why. -- Mark Twain"]
Wow! This is such an amazing thought. The day we are born is the greatest day in our life. Without it, we would have not others. It's shared with our parents as one of their greatest days as well. I know as a father, the birth of my daughter was a great day for me. It meant so much to bring a life into this world to cherish and love and watch grow.
Mark Twain's quote shares an even bigger thought. Many go through life, wondering what their life is about or why they were born.
"Why was I put on the face of the Earth?", we often hear people ask. There have been countless books, movies, TV shows, about this subject.
I recently had two episodes where I interviewed some great men, Aaron Walker and Beau Henderson about this topic. Living On Purpose and Living a RichLife are the subjects of these two interviews and you can click on the links to go back and listen to them if you haven't.
The day you have that AHa moment of WHY you were born, will be exhilarating. Because, you are special. Your life means something to someone.
Have you thought about why you were born? I have. And you know what I think.
The reason you think you were born may not even be why. You could one day be walking down the street and see a homeless person walking down the street and look at them and smile.
Just that action of smiling at someone could cause them to see a new light in the world. It could precipitate a change in them that could make them realize that life is worth living. Maybe you won't even know why you were born. It could be that subtle, no?
Anyway, if you haven't figured out why you were born, just keep smiling at people you pass on the street. It might make someone happy.
I get a lot of my quotes from great books that I read. And Mark Twain was a great author that shared many a great idea and quotes.
