The Leaders Path

Tina Fey

This is the last in our Opportunity series. I want to thank Richard Branson for sharing his Top 10 Quotes on Opportunity. We have covered his Top 10 over the last 10 days. There is amazing opportunity out there today.

[app_audio src="http://traffic.libsyn.com/goalgettingpodcast/QOD-Tina_Fey_-_There_are_no_mistakes_final.mp3"]

There are no mistakes, only opportunities. -- Tina Fey

This is such a simple quote, but oh so powerful! Tina Fey is a really funny comedian. She has been on Saturday Night Live and starred in 30 Rock. She is incredibly funny, but this is a serious quote from her.

What she is saying is absolutely correct in my opinion. You don't make mistakes.  You create educational opportunities. If you make mistakes, you can learn what not to do the next time.  When you do things that aren't right, don't think of them as mistakes. Learn from them and take advantage of the opportunity to do better next time, to grow.

I get a lot of my quotes from great books that I read. And if you like to listen to books on Audio like I do, I put together a deal with Audible to give Goal Getting Podcast listeners a FREE Audiobook of your choice AND a 30 Day Trial of Audibles service to try them out.

Peter Drucker

[app_audio src="http://traffic.libsyn.com/goalgettingpodcast/QOD20_-_Peter_Drucker_-_The_entrepreneur_always_final.mp3"]

Peter Drucker is known far and wide as the Father of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The founder of modern management style, he is the creator of the concept of Management by Objectives and others. His writings and foundations are focused on relationships with people as opposed to crunching numbers.

He was also famous for his thoughts on entrepreneurship. This is exemplified in this quote:

The Entrepreneur always searches for change, responds to it, and exploits it as an opportunity."  -- Peter Drucker

His book, Innovation and Entrepreneurship  was the first book to showcase innovation and entrepreneurship as  systematic disciplines helping to explain the challenges and opportunities of America's new entrepreneurial economy.

This quote is important for the entrepreneur to learn. It tells us that we should be on the look out for change. Welcome it, even, I feel. And when it happens respond to it and take advantage of it, exploit it as the opportunity that it is. Without change there is not growth. There is always opportunity in change. Respond to it and make the most of it.

Stephen Richards

[app_audio src="http://traffic.libsyn.com/goalgettingpodcast/QOD19-Stephen_Richards_-_To_dream_by_night_Final.mp3"]

Today we continue our Opportunity Series from Richard Branson's Top 10 Quotes on Opportunity.

This quote is by Stephen Richards, an author known as The Golden Pen.

To dream by night is to escape your life. To dream by day is to make it happen." - Stephen Richards

Stephen Richards is a believer in the power of the subconscious mind and a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist. He and I share that education and experience. I trained as and was qualified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist as well. I use a lot of the training I had in hypnotherapy and working with the subconscious mind to develop the 9 Steps To Successful Goal Achievement as well as using the Mental Bank program training to develop the Goal Getting, Don't Just Set'em Get'em Course that I share on the Goal Getting Podcast.

We know that when we sleep and dream we are able to escape our life. Our dreams as we sleep are ways for our mind to vent the experiences of the day. It's a way to escape our life.

But, as Stephen Richards says, when we dream by day, we can make it happen.  It depends on what your dreams are. But the key thing I believe that he is saying in this quote is that we make our dreams happen by day because we do the actions necessary to achieve the dreams. We don't just escape, but we take action and take advantage of the opportunities to make the dreams happen.

Start the day, making your dreams happen! Take action, seize the opportunities.

Paulo Coelho

[app_audio src="http://traffic.libsyn.com/goalgettingpodcast/QOD18_-_Paolo_Coelho_-_How_much_I_mised.mp3"]

Today's Goal Getting Quote of the Day is part of our Opportunity Series we started with Richard Branson's Top 10 Quotes on  Opportunity. It's a quote from Brazilian lyricist and author, Paulo ( Pow lu ) Coehlo (Co ey yu).

"How much I missed, simply because I was afraid of missing it."

The quote is from his book, Brida. A young girl is thinking about life and all of the opportunities she had in life and love and how because she wanted to be able to experience every opportunity, but ended up doing none of them.

One of the most common things that people on their death-bed talk about are the things they wish they had done. But at that time it's too late. You can't worry about regrets and what was, but what we have to worry about is what we want to do today.

Opportunities come to us and we make a decision to make them work for us, or we ignore them. At the end, if we ignore them all, we will be like the girl in Brida, fretting over the things she missed simply because she was afraid of missing some of them and thereby, miss them all.

Don't Miss the things you missed. Grab the opportunities that you are offered.

Before I started researching this quote, I had heard the name Paulo ( Pow lu ) Coehlo (Co ey yu), but didn't realize what an amazing writer and thinker he is. He has sold over 65 Million copies of his bestseller, The Alchemist, and over 170 Million of the 30 Books he has written. The Alchemist has been said by many well-known people who it is their favorite book and many have had life changing feelings after reading it.

I have not read it yet, but will add it to my reading list. I am glad to hear that I can get it on Audible as an Audiobook. I have found it helpful to listen to audiobooks on my commute. I have set up a deal with Audible.com for Goal Getting Podcast listeners. You can go to Goal Getting Book.com and Download a Free Audiobook of your choice and get 30 days of Audible service for no charge. So, if you want to pick up your FREE copy of The Alchemist from Paulu ( Pow lu ) Coehlo (Co ey yu) on Audiobook, go to Goal Getting Book.com.

I noticed that there are many great quotes from Paolo ( Pow lu ) Coehlo (Co ey yu). You can expect to hear more on Goal Getting Podcast's Goal Getting Quote of the Day in the future.

Hey, I really want to thank you for listening to our show. Go out and Get The Goals You Set and Make Today a Great Day!

Are you loving the Quote of the Day? I hope so, I love giving you great quotes that mean a lot to me. At Goal Getting Podcast we are dedicated to Helping you Get The Goals You Set!

program I share on Goal Getting Podcast, Then join us on Wednesdays with me and my guests for tips and systems to help you Get the Goals You Set.

Today's Quote, by Oprah Winfrey, is one of the Top 10 Quotes on Opportunity that Richard Branson shared. I saw them and wanted to share them with you.

Oprah says:

And she is right. If you prepare yourself, doing what you need to do to be what you want to be, then when opportunity happens, you might think its's just luck, but what it is really happening is opportunity is meeting preparation and it seems like something so random that it has to be luck.

What it is is The Law of Attraction. When you prepare, think and believe in your goals, then they will come to you in opportunity. Then you put your preparation out and shake hands with opportunity and Get The Goals You Set.

It's fun watching my Goal Getting Coaching Client as we've put together her goals, her action plan and as she starts

working that plan, amazing opportunities start coming to her! She just has to put her preparation to work and take

opportunity and run with it.

There is NO Luck to it!

Direct the energy to you. Direct your mind to work for you. Say Preparation, Meet Opportunity! Let's Do It, Now!

Thanks again for listening to Goal Getting Podcast, this is Tony Woodall, your host. Make it seem like luck when you Get the Goals You Set. Preparation meeting Opportunity feels like luck. Come join The Goal Getter Nation andcheck out our show notes and let us know what you think of the show.
