  • The Great Pivot - How to Quit Your Job, Follow Your Calling, and Be Happy

    About Paula

Paula Shepherd is a Certified Confidence Mindset Coach helping women find their voice, learn to use it, and stop settling.

Paula spent 20 years in Corporate America before leaving a six-figure management position to pursue her vision of every woman everywhere silencing self-limiting beliefs and becoming fearless.

She now shows female entrepreneurs how to show up courageously and step into their confidence so they can finally start connecting with their people, making sales, and taking back control. Get to know Paula in her free Facebook Group: facebook.com/groups/befearlesswithPaula

    Notes:

Paula began college to earn a degree in music but opted for a job that was more profitable. She found herself unfilled and so, she pivoted!

Paula advises that when you pivot, you need support. You need people who can relate to the experience you're in the middle of.  Your inner critic will tell you that you're making a mistake and you'll need reassurance.

Women in 9-5  job often pivot to Network Marketing because it seems less risky. Systems are in place, nearly all logistics have been handled but, someone else still tells you what to do.

Moving to Network Marketing actually just fills the gap between where you were and where you want to be - the place where you and your soul light up!

Before you make the 'big change', Paula suggests that you:

    •  write down all the things you don't like about your job
    • write down what you DO want (instead)
    • build your new business around your life - don't build your life around your business

Most people think they don't know how to make the leap and this is exactly why you need a coach. You don't necessarily need a business coach but you do need someone who can listen to you and allow you to be innovative and creative.

When you're innovative, you become your own brand and not a copy of someone else.

Finally, MINDSET is the critical foundational needed to pivot. You must be able to show up with the right energy everywhere you go and in every conversation.

  • Lessons I Learned from Baking Cakes and Making Music with Tony Guarnaccia

    Find Tony:

    tonyguarnaccia.com

    smallstepsmanifesto.com

    Find Robin:

    www.quittingculture.com

    About Tony:

Tony has helped thousands of businesses survive crises. Whether it was post 9/11, during the Great Recession or amidst massive company acquisitions, Tony has helped businesses navigate the uncertainties and emerge stronger on the other side.

As a child, Tony experienced firsthand the devastating crisis of business failure when his parents’ small business failed and they lost everything, including their home. Its impact on his life was powerful. Having lost everything, he determined he would one day figure out how to help business owners like his parents by learning how to run a profitable business. This mission shaped his entire 20-year career.

As an entrepreneur, business owner, and enterprise marketer, Tony worked with, literally, the best businesses in every industry, including Google, Microsoft, ADP, Ford, BMW, Sunrise Senior Living, and Foster Grant to name a few. And he has helped grow over 10,000 small businesses and a dozen Fortune 500 companies.

After working with the best businesses across hundreds of industries, he learned how they grow consistently and predictably, using adversity to pivot towards opportunity in order to survive and thrive in all manner of economic conditions.

His mission now has a name: Democratize Marketing — to share with small business owners and entrepreneurs exactly What to Do to grow profitably, How to Do It, and How to Leverage the Resources to Make It Happen. He believes that by growing small businesses, together we can impact not just our local communities but also our world.

    Show Notes:

To understand how your business is doing, there are two measures to consider:

What money is coming in, and when is the money coming in (cash flow).

In business you must slow down to speed up.
You must break things down methodically. This takes time but allows you to go faster later.

Tony's mission is to 'Democratize Marketing':

Marketing currently has a lot of fragmentation in marketing (where we share our message).

Marketing is cluttered (we're competing with messaging from all companies).

We also face technology challenges (how to implement our marketing).

We need marketing strategies, which are:

    1. What to do (focus on a channel, like Facebook or Google)

    2. How to do it - create a plan for your marketing

    3. Take action on your plan.

We want to focus on 'Growth Compounding' which is doing a multitude of small things that give you exponential business growth.

There are six growth factors in marketing:

    - Markets you're serving

    - Your products and services

    - Your value

     - How you get new buyers

     - How  you increase the size of buyers

     - The loyalty of those buyers

One you know that, this is when you create your plan.  If you have a 5-10 year plan for your business, you can make better decisions.

  • But first, Listen! Real talk about Connecting with Clients with Stephen Anderson, Your Profit Doctor

    Find Stephen: https://youtu.be/iMV_cPLUOz0

    About Stephen, The Profit Doctor

My passion is to help businesses to increase their cash flow and profits so they can survive in today’s environment. I help entrepreneurs and businesses to increase their sales by tripling their response rate in their marketing messages. After they increase their sales, I make them aware that a majority of businesses are leaving thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars, on the table during their normal operations. I show them how to grab that cash and put it into their pockets to increase their cash flow, especially in this new pandemic environment.

    Notes

Many business owners have very little information about the ways they can keep more of the money they generate. There are different avenues available if you know where to look.

One of the most important things right now is to really connect with potential clients - not by talking at them, but by finding out where they're struggling and what kind of help they need.

We can (and should) craft an elevator pitch that is succinct and directly relates to the solution we provide.

Before you give your elevator pitch, find out more about the person you're speaking with.

Start with a broad question about their business, then narrow down.

People really want to know 'What's in it for me?" when you're talking to them.

Joint Ventures are a great way to connect to more people and potentially reach more clients who you can help.

    Find Michelle: www.awarenessstrategies.com

    About Michelle

International bestselling author, Michelle Nedelec is an expert in Entrepreneurialism and the founder of Awareness Strategies.  She’s run her own series of companies for over 22 years and for over 15 years has been helping Managers and Executives to continually double their profits and revenues.

She not only has what it takes to help her clients build million dollar businesses, but she does it time and time again.  Michelle particularly loves to talk about Marketing Automation, Systems Integration and support both on and off of the stage.

She teaches the key components of business: Strategy, Systems, Support and State of Mind so you know how to continually elevate all four components to build a healthy thriving business.  For the past 6 years she’s been focusing on helping entrepreneurs bring their businesses online from conceptualization to Done For You IT automation.

    Notes

When approaching being an entrepreneur, it's important to ask:

What do you love to do?

How do you love to do it?

Next, figure our where your ideal clients are and how they'd love to work with you.

We have to consider how our clients want to receive our services.  For example, Michelle loves to speak and she connects best with people who love to listen (via podcasting).

We need to understand the difference between 'strategy' and 'tactics'.

The Strategy may be to meet people where they are. The Tactics might then be how - via online programs, a book, a podcast, etc...

Next, we need to determine where they begin with us and how they continue to work with us (also known as The Ladder of Ascension).

We can bring in our hobbies and other ways of expressing ourselves once we've connected with our clients through their primary way of working with us. For example, if our clients get to know and love us via our podcast (auditory learning), we can introduce our hobby of, photography, for example, at a later date.

Some people want to go 'all in' and 'full on' in their entrepreneurial endeavors. Others prefer to take it slow.

Trust yourself on your pace .

Be willing to try new things. Be willing to fail.

The only way to get into mastery is experience.

It's your willingness to fail that allows you to create mastery in anything.

A great coach is one that has failed and knows how to navigate it and keep going.

  • Reclaim Your Flame & Create the Life You Want After Your Relationship Ends

    Find Cheryl Guidry here: www.safedatingover50.com

    About Cheryl

Cheryl is a Relationship Coach, Women's Health Expert, Best Selling Author, and Speaker. She brings over three decades of working with women and changing lives. She is admired and appreciated for her commitment, intuitiveness, and personality. As a relationship coach, her passion is to help clients boldly embrace midlife. She helps them create an actionable plan with clear deliverables that align with their personal relationship vision after healing from divorce, being widowed, or a toxic relationship.

Divorcing after 21 years of marriage, Cheryl took the time to discover who she was after her long-term relationship ended, and reclaimed her life. By doing the deep dive into herself, she found joy in life again and remarried at 50. 11 years later, she has the relationship she envisioned. She loves to empower women through transformative and thought provoking coaching and practical knowledge to help them unlock their inner greatness and embrace this unique phase of life. Cheryl's powerful messages are a source of vitality to her clients, inspiring them to take immediate action to improve the quality of their lives.

    Notes

Many couples don't stay together for a lifetime, and one of the indicators may be how we entered marriage in the first place.

If we are friends first, it's easier to work through hard times together.

After a marriage ends (for any reason), women often feel as if they've lost themselves (particularly if it was a long-term relationship).

There is a period of reclaiming themselves. The questions to ask a woman in this phase, before she starts a new relationship are:

    • What do you want?
    • What are your values?
    • What do you want to embrace in your life?
    • How do you reestablish your self worth?
    • Once you know what you want and are actively creating that life, then it may be time to venture into dating.

Much of dating now begins online. Cheryl recommends (and helps women)to  set up a profile that reflects what you want.

You need to have a vision of what you want, what you don't want, and what you won't settle for.

Women after age 50 often jump into intimacy sooner (since many women in their 50's aren't worried about pregnancy).  Online dating (as we currently have due to the lockdowns) is good because it slows down the process. We can get to know them online before we meet in person.

We need to learn to notice and take red flags seriously. We need to develop our intuition and trust ourselves. Sometimes, we need someone with an objective eye to help us.

The goal is to learn to love ourselves so we are ready when love comes along again.

      Notes:

Managing Mindset - It's the work we have to do to be successful in business.

We resolve or shift through things like imposter syndrome or 'not enough'. Then, when  they show up again at the next level we recognize them for what they are.

To shift limiting beliefs, we have to feel them so we can know and accept them.

The question is: what action can you take today (to move through the limitations). Plan the next step to take to get through the limitation.

The next step is the hardest but once you've taken it, you realize it was doable. The more confidence you have and the more liberated you feel.

When you do this, you prove to your brain that the belief is not true.

      Sexy Goals:

      S - Simple - Simple - not necessarily easy

      E  - Executable

X  - Exciting  You need to be excited about it

      Y  - Why do I want this?

The WHY has to be compelling enough to keep you committed.

Jill teaches a virtual Publicity Crash Course, and consults and speaks all over the world. She also helps authors to create book deals with major publishers and agents, as well as obtain foreign rights deals.

      Notes

Everything you do is PR. Because that's true, it's important that you show up as authentically you.

One of most important things to get right is your messaging. By being clear, you create a clear connection with the right people (and you experience freedom because you're not worried about it!).

Creating an 'Ah Ha' factor makes you stand out and be more memorable. An Ah Ha factor can be something you've done or something you do. Typically, it is something vulnerable that you share authentically and makes you relatable.

Creating structure around your message gives you freedom (not always trying to figure out what to say).

Creating structure around your day gives you freedom.

Jill believes you should have a team of 3 people around you. Those people provide support and fill in the knowledge gaps you have.

      Tips from Jill for Publicity

      1. HARO Help a Reporter Out is a free service. It is a daily listing of publications looking for contributors.
      2. Podcasts are always looking for experts. Go to iTunes, type in a keyword directly related to your expertise and you'll find many podcasts that you could potentially be a guest on.

Using her proprietary, science-based processes coupled with inner work, Dorina guides her clients to develop a systematized approach to attract a steady stream of ideal clients into their programs and then deliver to them breakthrough results.

        Notes

To be a successful coach/business owner, you have to become an attractor of people.

However, you don't want to attract all people, you want to attract the RIGHT people. Taking any and all clients isn't liberation (it IS the ball and chain!).

The first step is to know yourself.  Specifically, you need to know your

        • archetype
        • mind type
        • wealth style
        • and then show up that way.  Do not be like other coaches. Be yourself.

You must have these fundamentals in place.

You must be clear on who you are and build your brand around these core pieces.

Know your niche and become a specialist, not a generalist.

Develop a signature system, create high-end packages and know how to communicate with people in such a way that you really connect (based on the neuroscience of communication).

Specialize  so that you can elevate yourself and develop your reputation, and  gain more exposure.

Your purpose is the most important driver in this equation. Your purpose is what propels you forward and your desire to serve people and have an impact is at the core of your becoming a Celebrity Authority!

        • How to Create Profitable Partnerships Through Authentic Connection with Shereese Alexander

          Find Shereese: www.jvjoy.com

Shereese Alexander is a Business Networking Coach who helps entrepreneurs create profitable partnerships through authentic connection. Shereese went from being a PhD candidate at an Ivy League school to being homeless in New York City at the height of the 2008 recession.

That experience taught her that, while achievements and degrees are something to be proud of, human connection is the most valuable asset a person could have. Now she teaches entrepreneurs the power of making a micro-impact, one person at a time, in order to grow their network and their business.

Shereese helps people build relationships at live and virtual events.

Some people go to events to find 10 clients but finding 10 Joint Venture (JV) partners is much better.

Shereese recommends that you attend an event with an intention - and a strategy!

If you're going strictly for the content, you are missing out on opportunities to meet potential JV partners, mentors, clients, and what Shereese calls X Factors - those people that you probably won't work with but who become friends.

There are people at live events who are usually unreachable. They are people you admire or respect. To connect with them in a genuine way,  thank them for the impact they’ve had on your life. Be specific.

If you’re trying to attract the influencer, the person who is hosting the event, don't try to connect  during the live calls or at the live event.

          Instead, show your support by:

          - Actively contribute in the related Facebook group. Add quotes & tag the person who said something meaningful during the event.

          - Be an assistant ….they’ll remember that you contributed.

Be intentional about where you participate. Spend your time and energy in the communities you want to support.

          Don’t spread yourself thin.

And most of all, be authentic.

Find Amber & Join Her Bootcamp here: www.fitladiesbootcamp.com

Amber Wise is a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Military wife, mother to 4 children, and successful entrepreneur. She helps busy women lose weight fast.

Amber was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy when she was young and grew up with some physical limitations. However, she didn't like feeling different and with the encouragement of her older sister, she learned how to do the things the doctors said she'd never do.

Amber believes we have an opportunity to take full advantage of the bodies we have and appreciate them.

Working out is a way to prove we are strong and capable and can do hard things when we're determined to.

In her experience, we all have a belief that we are not enough. When we achieve things with our bodies, we show ourselves that we are enough. Our bodies are remarkable!

Fit Ladies Bootcamp was started to show women that they can work out, they can get in shape, and they can do hard things.

Amber believes that publicly declaring your goal helps you achieve it. Those public declarations happen within Amber's private FIT Ladies Bootcamp Facebook group - also where Amber's daily workouts are posted.

For those of us who want to get back into shape, she suggests that we find something we can do (physically) for 10-15 minutes each day and do it.

If you were working out prior to the lockdowns, you can always join Amber's program and get fresh workouts 5 days a week.

Muscle confusion, intensity, and consistency are key to having a strong, sexy body!
