This show is an endorsement for the movie "King Richard".  I really enjoyed it and wanted to share something I learned from it.  So in this episode I share the importance of establishing moral character strengths in your life.  Our society tends to reward performance character strengths because they are certainly more visible and at times it takes less time to see the results that come from it.  However, moral character strengths require more time and introspection and to be truly successful as a human being this is mandatory.

Deferred maintenance refers to necessary maintenance, repairs and upgrades or replacements that are put on hold until some time in the future.  If you fail to make these investments on a property, like your home or another investment property, you not only risk the value of the asset decreasing but also paying more for the damage that is caused by the negligence.   The same is true in our lives.  It is expedient that we invest in the various "rooms" of our lives on a regular basis so that we don't end up with heavy losses and inadequate living conditions.

Most of the time, if you want to change something to make it better, your two main options are to add new components or to take away components that are already there.  When you describe both options like this, it’s obvious that subtraction is an option, and might sometimes be a better option. But when you’re going through everyday life, you have to generate all the options on your own.  However,  we have a tendency to think that the way to make things better is to do more.  Often we overlook the value of removing something to increase the appreciation of the rest.
