After a month long hiatus, we stumble into a review of Zack's pick, religious drama/suspense flick Saint Maud. This episode is not (unfortunately) sponsored by Gatorlyte :(

Directed by Rose Glass. Starring Morfydd Clark and Jennifer Ehle.

“Having recently found God, self-effacing young nurse Maud arrives at a plush home to care for Amanda, a hedonistic dancer left frail from a chronic illness. When a chance encounter with a former colleague throws up hints of a dark past, it becomes clear there is more to sweet Maud than meets the eye.”

“All unemployed, Ki-taek's family takes peculiar interest in the wealthy and glamorous Parks for their livelihood until they get entangled in an unexpected incident.”

Dennis hits us with a welcome pick from the great Quentin Tarantino, with his latest film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Matt’s never seen anything Tarantino (and that changes today). So grab your flamethrower and acid soaked cigarette and settle in because we have debate on our hands.

Directed by Quentin Tarantino. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie.

"Los Angeles, 1969. TV star Rick Dalton, a struggling actor specializing in westerns, and stuntman Cliff Booth, his best friend, try to survive in a constantly changing movie industry. Dalton is the neighbor of the young and promising actress and model Sharon Tate, who has just married the prestigious Polish director Roman Polanski…"

It's Zack with another slasher! Scream VI, the latest in the long running meta-horror franchise, heads to the Big Apple for a highly anticipated move from Woodsboro. We had mixed feelings about this one, but that may be due to the 8 year old chatterboxes next to us in the theater.

Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. Starring Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, and Courteney Cox.

"Following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter in New York City."

This week we've got Matt's pick with Best Picture nominee The Banshees of Inisherin. Trying to get in the mood for ahead of the Oscars this weekend left us dazed and confused as we try to work out just what the point of this one was.

Directed by Martin McDonagh. Starring Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, and Kerry Condon.

"Set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland, THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN follows lifelong friends Pádraic and Colm, who find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship. A stunned Pádraic, aided by his sister Siobhán and troubled young islander Dominic, endeavours to repair the relationship, refusing to take no for an answer. But Pádraic's repeated efforts only strengthen his former friend’s resolve and when Colm delivers a desperate ultimatum, events swiftly escalate, with shocking consequences."

We are BACK. We missed you and it wouldn't be the litter box without Dennis picking obscure flicks. He stays on brand this week with 2017's Logan Lucky, the hillbilly heist movie set in our backyard here in Charlotte, NC. Hard to describe this one, so here's us trying our best for 57 minutes.

Directed by Steven Soderbergh. Starring Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, and Daniel Craig.

"West Virginia family man Jimmy Logan teams up with his one-armed brother Clyde and sister Mellie to steal money from the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina. Jimmy also recruits demolition expert Joe Bang to help them break into the track's underground system. Complications arise when a mix-up forces the crew to pull off the heist during a popular NASCAR race while also trying to dodge a relentless FBI agent."

Zack continues working down his list of all-star directors with suspiciously underrated David Fincher. This 2010 hit, The Social Network, unsurprisingly stands the test of time and presents you with all the tools needed to be a real asshole. Spoilers throughout this one.

Directed by David Fincher. Starring Jesse Eisenburg, Andrew Garfield, and Justin Timberlake.

"In 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer genius Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) begins work on a new concept that eventually turns into the global social network known as Facebook. Six years later, he is one of the youngest billionaires ever, but Zuckerberg finds that his unprecedented success leads to both personal and legal complications when he ends up on the receiving end of two lawsuits, one involving his former friend (Andrew Garfield). Based on the book "The Accidental Billionaires.""

Knock knock. Who's there? M. Night with a fumbled bag. Zack and Matt overrule Dennis to watch the brand new release: Knock at the Cabin. This one's got mostly positive reviews amongst general audiences, but we weren't fans.

Directed by M. Night Shyamalan. Starring Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff, and Ben Aldridge.

"While vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost."

This week we talked about Pearl, the origin story and prequel to 2022's hit slasher X. It was Matt's pick and boy oh boy was it regretful. Is it just us or was this not a pop culture phenomenon? If so, pop culture can suck it and so can this movie.

Directed by Ti West. Starring Mia Goth, David Corenswet, and Tandi Wright.

"Filmmaker Ti West returns with another chapter from the twisted world of X, in this astonishing follow-up to the year's most acclaimed horror film. Trapped on her family's isolated farm, Pearl must tend to her ailing father under the bitter and overbearing watch of her devout mother. Lusting for a glamorous life like she's seen in the movies, Pearl finds her ambitions, temptations, and repressions all colliding in this stunning, technicolor-inspired origin story of X's iconic villain."
