The LoreCraft Podcast

Introduction and General Weeks Events

Before we begin on our main topic of game immersion, we had to find out what me and Yamino were up to these past couple of weeks!

Fantasy Fables

Sometimes it's nice to go back to an old classic. A paladin, a human, and a legal writ. All while in a bar.

A LEGAL WRIT HE SAYS. STORMWIND LAW DON’T CARRY MUCH WEIGHT OUT HERE, HOLY MAN

But the real question is, will he find what he is looking for?

You can check out the story here. http://www.thelorecraft.com/thelaw

Main Topic - Game Immersion

This week I was sitting back and reading the usual World of Warcraft blogs, when he came upon an intriguing questions.

Are you okay with broken immersion?

And in the article they are specifically talking about game immersion in WoW. You can find the full article on Blizzardwatch.com.

This is something I've thought about often when playing the game. We often times run into things such as pop culture references or gag quests. And for some people this may pull them out of the game. Out of their immersion within this world.

Yamino and I take on the question, but we're also curious about your thoughts. What do you think? Does it affect your game?

From Alisaunder,

Now that we know you can get demons to swear loyalty to you by killing the guy they are currently sworn to, should we be building up our own army rather than killing them all?

How cool would THAT be for the final fight of Legion.

Machik has had no time to even venture into the World of Warcraft, but he did get to test out a bit of Overwatch.  Yamino on the other hand did lots of leveling.  So many alts, so little time.

Fantasy Fables

No fable this week.  But it will return next week!

Main Topic - Gelbin, the Short and Awesome

Gelbin Mekkatorque is a man of small stature, but he holds a large sway over the gnomes of Warcraft.  What many people don't know is that Gelbin, and his gnomes, made it possible to travel between Ironforge and Stormwind.

He also led the gnomes through many troubles from war within to war without.  But how did he come to lead the gnomes?  And what does it mean to be the leader of one of the most intelligent races in Warcraft?

Not much going on from Machik and Yamino this week.  Oh Blizzcon, get here a bit faster for the excitement train to come once again.

Fantasy Fables

This week we had a story sent to us.  That was extremely exciting.  Remember, if you have a story you'd like to share, just toss Machik an email or leave some feedback up top.

Enjoy Herbalism is Tough.

Main Topic - A Leader For All

Well, we covered the biggest and baddest leader of them all last week.  This week we move on to someone who has been alive a little longer.  She's got a strong head on her shoulders and continues to thrive even after multiple tragedies.

Yep, we're talking about Tyrande Whisperwind.

The leader of the Night Elves, a lengend of the Sentinels, and an overall stoic presence among the Alliance.

Machik and Yamino begin as they always do.  Chit chatting about their week in WoW.

Fantasy Fables

Open forum RP.  We've talked about it in the past.  And this weeks fable is just that.  It begins in a tavern.  Where will it end?  And will you be a part of it?  Check it out at http://www.thelorecraft.com/warriorsrespite to find out more.

Main Topic - A Leader For All

We begin a series on the faction leaders of the Warcraft universerse.  And there was really only one choice for the first show in the series.  Varian Wrynn.

The man.  The myth.  The Legend.

And boy does he have a background.  Though we only touch on a few parts of his life during the podcast, Varian is a major player in Warcraft.  And to know about him is to know about what the Alliance went through with the first invasion of the orcs.

• http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=5453/ghosts-in-the-dark That achievement right there. In Darkshore there is a place called Maw of the Void. If you haven't already done this go jump in that whirlpool. First off if you somehow don't already have the Going Down 'chieve it'll net that too. Anywho go up the really short path and kill a Demon Hunter there. He'll drop an item called Writing of the Dark Herald. The description of this item is key. "The scrolls are vague and appear to be a piece of a much larger puzzle, but if you are not mistaken, they seem to reveal some of the steps on the path to becoming a demon hunter." You'll net the 'chieve when you turn the quest in. This quest and achievement was from the beginning of Cata, soooo... How long were they thinking of Demon Hunter as a class then? Or I could be just seeing conspiracies.... Thanks for your time as always! ~Evolly~
