In episode 33,Β We recap the last show a last week and everything in between since episode 32!
Continuing with the broader theme of brain, body, and business and what that all means and entails. This episode really focuses on breathing awareness and both the benefits of breathing better but also some of the hidden things we don't realize and often take for granted because as long as we're breathing we think we're good but we may be causing harm to our bodies!
This is definitely a deep dive into breathing and kind of my journey but also it is more of a storytelling so that more awareness around this is brought to light because I think it is really misunderstood and beneficial for people to learn more about going forward! Breathing will not fix everything in your life but you'd be surprised how the simple act could really change a lot of things that may be difficult or of concern potentially now or down the road.
The TL;DR:
All three sections brain body and business are intertwined in this weeks episode. First two are critical to being able to even touch on the third hence this weeks kind of intertwined discussion. Without a healthy body and mind or a plan to continuously improve those to business is almost irrelevant but we touch on all of them this week as usual. Perhaps not the most involved episode with business this week!
A few books that I've been reading that might be of interest as well related to breathing

We talk about getting better organized and putting more systems in place along with building in public regardless of what I'm building whether it's physical or digital. Again covering life entrepreneurship tooling and more.
Still a little slow getting all the pieces in place but things are shaping up on the podcast finally!

I also get into an irritating exchange from last week on social media although I think I handled it better on the platform then probably on this podcast episode!π€£

What's up everybody it's been a busy last couple of months!Β Happy new year to everybody hope your holiday season was amazing! Today is just catching up from an unexpected long break in October November and December!
Things are good and I am pumped to start the year been catching up on lots of things. The family is good life is good the business is good. Excited about 2022 and putting some new things in place at home in life and in business!
Always progressing and keeping things fresh and new. After this episode the format will be a lot like it was later last year and I will try to stick to weekly episodes moving forward this year with a little more format than in the past but that could definitely change as well!
I don't have a lot of super planned out resolutions but I like the idea of words because I have 18 of them tattooed on my body and my words to focus on for me this year our Love and Swagger. I get into a little bit of how those came about and I'm sure they will come up more throughout the year!
I don't generally believe in the new year new me bullsh*t but that being said I like the idea of having a little bit more focus and refining my business and process with things as they unfold throughout the year! Excited to be back excited to share more stories and learning as the weeks go on! Feel free to let me know on social media or however you want to get contact with me if there are topics you'd like me to discuss or look into really excited about the year and I hope you are too!! It's great to be back and I am already excited for next weeks episode!

In this episode I catch everyone up on the happenings of the last two weeks! It's been a busy September with lots of doctors appointments and clients and a variety of calls and discussions! Some thoughts on life and what's going on.Β Not a super in-depth episode just wanted to get back in touch with everyone and will probably do another episode better this week that's a little more coaching focused but I wanted to let everyone know how I'm doing and see how everyone else is doing!

In this episode I discuss a little bit about the 20th anniversary tomorrow of 9/11/2001
I talk about value and the perception, intentions, how different words can impact people differently it's all very subjective! The point is you will hear various experts, give their two cents including myself at times. But I think staying true to what you believe is valuable to yourself to your friends to your family to your audience to whom ever you are speaking to remains important. We don't always nail it, and that's OK. I think the point is to just keep trying, getting up when we fall down and learning from mistakes. There is no playbook for 99% of life and even if there was every single person would likely have a different variation of that playbook!

We hear people talking about beingΒ our "authentic self" all the time but what does that really mean? There is no cookie-cutter solution or formula to follow there are just some steps that I recommend taking a look at once you've decided that you are ready to explore! Not everybody will have the same journey or path, but in order to find your authentic self and truly love and appreciate yourself and all your uniqueness, these are some of my suggestions, to help you get started!
Whether you should or shouldn't that is entirely up to you! From my experience it has been hard work and rewarding but just because everybody else is talking about it doesn't necessarily mean it's right for you right now at this moment in time that's only something you can decide for yourself! Hope you find this episode helpful and enjoyable and I'll be back later this week!! π
There have been and are lots of posts on LinkedIn including my own about my thoughts and perspective on authenticity but the one I was thinking of in the beginning of this podcast, was from Joe Lalgee https://www.linkedin.com/posts/recruitmentmarketing1_linkedin-personalbranding-activity-6840728523997528064-mWMv

As usual a day late!Β Today I talk a little bit about Botox in a little bit of a personal thing! I also talk about some interesting things being chatted about on LinkedIn and other platforms. Some highlights from today include diversity of thought, challenging assumptions, growing, getting over the fear of the unknowns. At the end of the day everything takes time and patience. What works for somebody else may not work for you but for me I always like to hear different opinions and perspectives it helps me get clear on my thinking about my decisions. In this Disruptive Impact Episode, I start off by apologizing for the poor audio quality in Tuesday's episode apparently some things got off track over the summer but I think everything is back in order! The focus on this episode is do you have to be likable to be a good leader? That is dependent on so many factors, however to keep it simple I think the answer when you think about the question further is absolutely. Here are my thoughts on why and I pose the question to listeners what do you think about it from another perspective how does it resonate for you?
This came up again recently in conversation and somebody asked a really poignant question that I hadnβt thought about previously. Have you ever had or worked for or alongside of a leader you didnβt like? If you didnβt like the person where are you doing your best work or were you truly engaged and inspired?
I thought it was a great question and it really got me thinking a little bit differently about my previous lens.(initially likability didnβt resonate with me as much as I realized later)
You may not like every decision somebody makes, there are times unexpected and unforeseen things happen in life. Every leader along the way is likely to make a mistake or say something out of character so you have to look at the overall body of work in my opinion!Β
When I reframed what likability meant to me, my initial stance changed, but more importantly I think it evolved with more careful consideration and a little bit of different thinking or perspective shifting.
Think about your own experiences and when have you been at your best working for yourself or alongside another team or group or leader, did you feel:
β¨MotivatedΒ
β¨Inspired
β¨Respected
β¨Positively ImpactedΒ
β¨Autonomy
β¨Provided a safe environment to fail and learn and grow?
β¨Were Trust,Transparency, and Integrity were valued and present?
β¨Did you feel heard?
Sometimes we can overcome bad bosses, but typically that is short-lived and not a viable long-term solution, not to mention a burden to our mental and physical health!
This is by no stretch a comprehensive list of traits or qualities of great leaders, just merely some thoughts to get you thinking? Curious to hear your thoughts and if you have ever had a particular stance on something and then changed your mind over time?
The more I thought about this question from this perspective, truth is I do think the best leaders have a lot (and are a
