In this very special episode, Land Rover Monthly editor Martin Domoney grabs half an hour with Mike Sampson – the man responsible for designing the Discovery 1 and later on, Range Rover Sport.

Mike gives a fantastic insight into how the distinctive Discovery shape came about, and why it was so important to get it right from the very outset, despite a very tight schedule and incredibly limited budget. Ever wondered how the distinctive steel wheel design came from? You can thank Mike for that.
