This is day twenty four of a 29 day journey where you will learn the fundamentals of mindful meditation while syncing yourself with the cycles of the moon, the gorgeous feminine mass in our solar system. Begin this podcast on the new moon to follow the cycle that is outlined over the next Synodic month: The harmonization of the movement of both the sun and the moon.
Today, in our dharma talk we will explore working with pain & discomfort. Everyone without exception encounters pain. Most of us have the conditioning to not like pain, to be afraid of it. It's a signal to pay attention. Often in the West, pain is considered to be bad and not natural, and that it needs to be controlled. But often, our reaction of not liking and being afraid of the pain can end up taking over and our body and heart contract.
The invitation here is to turn toward the pain because working with pain and discomfort can bring huge freedom in our life.
We will practice with a 20 minute meditation as we explore what is arising with an open and kind heart.
