Boom! Stop. I'm David Tian, PhD, and in this video, I answer the question: If I was bad before, can I still win her back? Welcome to Man Up Episode 208.

Masculinity for the Intelligent Man. I'm David Tian, PhD., and this is Man Up!

Hey, I'm David Tian, PhD., and for over the past 10 years, I have been helping hundreds of thousands of people in over 87 countries attain success, happiness and fulfillment in life and love. Welcome to Man Up Episode 208. We're here in Vienna in a very touristy area, but it's pretty so I thought I showed this to you in the background as we're shooting here. I got a question from the Man Up private Facebook group. This one comes from Herald.

    Herald asks:

"My wife who is 27 wants to separate and eventually divorce me. I'm 28 years old. We've been together eight years and married for three. We have two beautiful boys, aged two and four. I have very severe bipolar. It has consumed me and my whole life. I've been put on 72-hour holds four times in my life, most recently towards the end of July when she said she wanted a divorce. I spun out of control and gave up on life. I was really possessive for most of our relationship and couldn't understand that I was. I just didn't see it, sadly."

"It was a wakeup call. I started counselling and it really helps." Awesome. "I've learned to be happy and focus on the moment. I've changed my tune and people have noticed for sure." That's all amazing, Herald. "My wife thinks I'm trying to get her back, which I am, but I know it is a very low chance. I'm doing this for myself. I want to be in control of myself and live in the moment. I have a good job that I excel at and just want me family to stay together. Again, it's probably all for nothing, but stranger things have happened. We're definitely separating and I'm going to get my own place and give her time and space. Reconciling would be what I want most, but who knows? I implore you to lay your wisdom down from me."

Boom! Stop. I'm David Tian, PhD, and in this video, I answer the question: Does kissing count as cheating? Welcome to Man Up Episode 207.

Masculinity for the Intelligent Man. I'm David Tian, PhD., and this is Man Up!

Hey, this is David Tian, PhD., and for over the past 10 years, I have been helping hundreds of thousands of people in over 87 countries attain success, happiness and fulfillment in life and love. Welcome to Man Up Episode 207. I'm in Toronto on the streets enjoying a beer. A little commercial for Canadian beer. I don't know. And that's the ROM, the Royal Ontario Museum right behind me, and some parts of the University of Toronto campus. These are my old haunting grounds back in the day, like 15 years ago now I'm thinking, but so bringing back where I am over here in the sidewalk patio, enjoying some food. That's half-eaten food there.

Anyway, I got a question here. This one comes from Bond. The question is: "Is kissing cheating?"

"My girlfriend made out with a co-worker, a dude she told me not to worry about. We've been together nearly a year and have had a very open and honest monogamous relationship."

So, let's just be clear about this. Open, monogamous relationship. So normally when you use the word 'open relationship', that means something. But an open, monogamous relationship is actually an oxymoron. What he means is I guess they share a lot with each other, open and honest. "This is my most serious relationship to date, while she has lived with partners before." I'm assuming the way you said that, 'she has lived with partners before', sounds like you haven't. Anyway, "Now we've talked about jealousy and possibility of a less traditional relationship down the road, so it's not that big a surprise. She's been really into Sex at Dawn and has brought up the philosophy a lot recently."

David Tian: Hey, I'm David Tian, PhD., and welcome to Man Up Episode 206. For over the past 10 years, I have been helping hundreds of thousands of people in over 87 countries attain success, happiness and fulfillment in life and love. But of course, we're bringing you in here to help us with clinical psychology and understand all of the issues around that.

Gui Mansilla: Thank you so much for having me, David. I am here today as a registered psychotherapist. I am part of the College of Psychotherapy here in Ontario, in Canada. I do a bunch of other things, and I think a renaissance man, and I really love that about me and my work. While I could talk quite a bit about what I have done, and then I have come to my passion for psychotherapy through the path of trying to make it work better, starting with law and becoming a criminal lawyer, and then coming back to my [INAUDIBLE 00:01:44] where I'm working and studying method acting and been working quite a bit as an actor.

Welcome to Man Up Episode 205. I'm in Toronto. On a – what would you call this, a veranda or a hotel room. Here's the SOHO Metropolitan right downtown, in downtown Toronto. I'm on the balcony. It's pretty nice, but the sun is out. I want to not have to wear sunglasses while doing this. So, we're going to walk inside and – it'll be a little tricky, but anyway, going inside. I got a question here from the private Man Up Facebook group. This one comes from Lyndon. Lyndon, I'm going to answer your question real quick, just take shoes off real slick and – hey, don't show my shoes. Come on, here we go. Alright, here we go. I'm going to open up the question here. I'm going to sit down. Yes, there we go. Perfect. Woo, yes, dynamic; following me around.

    Lyndon, here we go:

He said he watched Man Up Episode 19. Wow, throwback to 19, about texting a girl. Okay, so he says he needs advice because the situation is slightly different. I'm going to read the situation. Lyndon says he's with a girlfriend. He's 29 and lives in England. "We're just friends for now." Okay, so he met a girl. They're just friends for now. "I'd like to turn it into something more as I've liked her for ages." If that's been the case, then you're already in friend zone, but let's keep going. "I got her number only a week ago." You've liked her for ages but you got her number a week ago "And the first load of texts were setting up a date, but never officially called it a date; we just hung out, if that's close enough."

Hey, I'm David Tian, PhD., and for over the past 10 years, I have been helping hundreds of thousands of people in over 87 countries attain success, happiness and fulfillment in life and love.

Welcome to Man Up Episode 204. I'm in Toronto. The sun is setting. I usually like to film when the sun is setting, but in Toronto, in the summer, that means after dinner.

I'm very full from a big dinner. But we got to film, so I'm trying to keep up with these. Once I get back to Asia, we'll be churning out a lot more content so thanks for sticking with us.

Anyway, let's get into Episode 204, question from the private Man Up Facebook group which you should join if you haven't joined it yet. A question here from Jonathan. I'll just dive in there. It's not too long.

"Hey guys, my girlfriend who is 22 years old and I 23 have been seeing each other for eight months now, and six months of that has been long distance. We live three hours away from each other, and seeing each other two to three weekends each month. We are both getting frustrated with the long distance and know it cannot last much longer. We both just graduated college and currently live at our parents' house." I assume that means in your respective parents' houses.

"I work a full-time job that I don't like, and I had been applying for jobs in a bigger city nearby to work and live. My girlfriend really wants to move in with me when I moved to this new city, but I don't think I'm comfortable with that big of a commitment." They've been seeing each other eight months now.

David Tian: Boom! Stop. I'm David Tian, PhD, and in this video, I answer the question: Should you dump your girlfriend for the girl you've always wanted? Welcome to Man Up 203.

Masculinity for the Intelligent Man. I'm David Tian, PhD., and this is Man Up!

Hey, I'm David Tian, PhD., and for over the past 10 years, I have been helping hundreds of thousands of people in over 87 countries attain success, happiness and fulfillment in life and love, and welcome to Episode 203. We're here in Toronto in the garden of an Airbnb in Yorkville, in a cheap part of town. We're filming this.

It's been a lot of family visits this trip into Toronto. We just came in from New York. I had three weekend events to conduct. I have another one coming up next weekend, so on top of that, of course there's a lot of family visits and just trying to maximize family time. I only get that once a year here at least, so we're really behind in the Man Up episodes and in terms of content production.

I apologize for that, but it is August and it seems like a lot of people are taking the time off anyway. We have our editing team taking a week off. Hopefully, I will be able to get this file to them in time before they take off, but no promises.

A lot of content coming up, a lot of content planned, so thank you for watching this and for sticking with it. Alright, I got a question from the Man Up private Facebook group. Join that group. We're over 16,000 right now as of this filming of this video, some pretty mature people in there giving feedback. Great group.

    Question here comes from Zach.

"I have a dilemma. I've been with my girlfriend now for six months. We've had our ups and downs just like any relationship, however the last month or two has been pretty dreadful due to some…" Okay. "Maybe three weeks ago, my best friend and crush over the past 10 years admitted that she had very strong feelings for me and has for a long time. I admitted the same to her. I'm in love with my current girlfriend, but I'm not 100% certain I want to be with her forever, except on the days where I am 100% certain I want to be with her."

We're at Saks Fifth here, about to do a little worship at the site of consumerism. But before we do that, it's interesting to see that it is a across from a place of worship. Two different types of worship.

Hey, this is David Tian, PhD., and for over the past 10 years, I have been helping hundreds of thousands of people in over 87 countries attain success, happiness and fulfillment in life and love. Here we are in New York City. As you probably recognize behind me is Wall Street. I'm in front of the building.

It is the National Archives, and just out in public on a Sunday. A lot of tourists here out in this area. I just did a Tony Robbins event, Unleash the Power Within. You might be able to hear that my voice is a little hoarse because of all the shouting. It's great. It's my fifth one. It was okay.

I kind of feel like it's my fifth one in four years. He's been changing up some of the material, but most of it is still the same, just different stories. Anyway, that's why my voice is like this. I got a question here from the private Man Up Facebook group.

This one comes from Iron Nick. Nick says: "Is it wrong to want to be a provider to a woman? It's how I was brought up, and high value to me as a man to provide for my woman and my potential family? Apparently, woman", in the singular, "are not sexually attracted to providers????"

Nick, I'm going to answer your question. You got a lot of question marks in there. Let's take it one at a time.

David Tian: Boom! Stop. I'm David Tian, PhD, and in this video, I answer the question: What if she's a daddy's girl? Welcome to Man Up 200.

Masculinity for the Intelligent Man. I'm David Tian, PhD., and this is Man Up!

Welcome to Man Up Episode 200. I'm David Tian, PhD., and for over the past 10 years, I have been helping hundreds of thousands of people in over 87 countries attain success, happiness and fulfillment in life and love. And again, this is Episode 200.

This is a pretty big episode for us, so woo-hoo. I was going to film a much longer one, much bigger one, but we've been very busy the past couple weeks on many different countries, and we're about to fly across the world in a few hours. I knew we needed to get some video done quickly because we wouldn't have a chance to do it for a little while. Here we are, filming this last-minute again.

Thank you so much for hanging in there and for the guys who have consumed 200 episodes of me. I am honored and flattered, and thank you. A question here from the private Man Up Facebook group. If you haven't joined that yet, please do so. It's for your own good. There are over 14,000 other members in there with some really great interaction. All right, a question here from Cory.

"I have a question, David. I recently met a very cool lady. I believe she is relationship material. She is in her mid-40s, is independent, gainfully employed, owns her own home", all of those are pretty superficial things, "and seems emotionally intact." Intact, it's like a really low bar for emotional maturity here, but okay. I guess a lot of guys in America are really lowering their standards just to get in a relationship with them. All right, I'll accept this from you, Cory.

David Tian: Boom! Stop. I'm David Tian, PhD, and in this video, I answer the question: What if self-improvement doesn't make you feel better about yourself. Welcome to Man Up Episode 199.

Masculinity for the Intelligent Man. I'm David Tian, PhD., and this is Man Up!

Hey, it's David Tian, PhD., and for over the past 10 years, I have been helping hundreds of thousands of people in over 87 countries attain success, happiness and fulfillment in life and love, and welcome to Man Up Episode 199. Right? Six, seven, eight, nine. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the world called Chucha, or Kucha, or Kuka. [INAUDIBLE 00:00:36] in Bali just as the sun is setting, and the food is on the table so I gotta make this quick, man. I got a question here from Aaron who just posted in the Man Up private Facebook group. And it's your lucky day, Aaron, I'm going to answer your question like 10 minutes after you posted it. Of course, it's going to take a little bit of time for it to get on the internet, but you'll see it soon. So, he's got it here:

"Hey. What's up, guys? I'm sorry if I bring you guys down." So already, we know his frame of mind, he's already apologizing for who he is. "I'm sorry if I bring you guys down, but I'm feeling super tired of all the self-improvement", because he's doing it for the wrong reasons, or through the wrong way. "I'm currently trying to bring up my self-esteem by working on the gym, my music and my schoolwork. But for some reason at the end of the day, my brain reminds me I'm still alone, AKA I have not made any progress." So for him, progress means that he's got a girlfriend.
