The Matrix Effect

In the fastest 12 minutes ever on the Finebaum show, Dave makes his national debut in SEC country.  This segment has been replayed all over the country and some listeners have even said "It's the best guest he's had on all summer."

High praise for a debut on a huge show with a massive following.  Paul's tweet of Dave's quotes and the segment is 3rd in retweets and favorites on twitter for ALL of Paul's guests in August behind only Jon Gruden and Kirk Herbstreit.

Sit back and enjoy the fastest 12 minutes in college football and tell Paul if you want to hear Dave every week on the show.  We promise no one was hurt in the recording of this pace of an interview.

National Title Contenders - 2014-15

The First Word

By Dave BARTOO

The core.  The heart. The beginning.  This is where this CFBMatrix journey all started 9 years ago.  I have always enjoyed solving what was perceived to be complex questions with simple answers.  The question I started with was talent and it's ability to define the BCS National Championship game.

Using the formula to look back from 2005 to 2002, it missed one team in the BCS title game.  In the 9 years since, every winner and loser of the BCS title game has come from this annual group of 9 to 11 teams that share 5 numbers.  25 of the last 26 and every National Champion since 2002.  I know we have a 'new' system in place.  But if it ain't broke, don't fix it. One simple formula, one simple answer.

Dave Bartoo has spent the last two decades simplifying perceptions in niche industries within banking, health care and mergers. He has a history of changing perceptions and challenging complex questions with simple analytics. He’s also a lover of college football and a season-ticket holder for the Oregon Ducks.

In 2011, Bartoo combined his two primary interests to produce the CFB Matrix. Since then, the word of Bartoo’s point of view had spread rapidly. Bartoo has been a frequent guest on sports talk radio shows, logging over a thousand segments across the nation. He’s been seen on TV, consulted with coaching staffs, featured in national publications and been profiled on Grantland.com. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/cfb-matrix-dave-bartoo-q-a-player-safety/

2014 is going to show some major changes for the Dave and the CFBMatrix as they release the first fully digital and interactive preview magazines, launch Football Fairytale: Fact or Fiction and introduce Against the Grain as college football's constant contrarian.

A quick listen as what I feel the CFBMatrix is, was and will become.  At its core it is simplicity in three concepts that dictate nearly everything in college football.  Talent, Location [where games are played] and Coaching.  It is T.L.C.  Remember that and use it every time to evaluate anything you hear, think or say about college football.
