There isn't going to be a new comic book day as we knew it for the foreseeable future, so I'm sharing one of my #NTYCBD (New To You Comic Book Day) picks. Marvel Masterworks: Avengers Volume 19 (click the link to buy it at Amazon*) is a classic collection of stories from the Bronze Age of comics. David Michelinie is the main writer of these stories, which are illustrated by some of the all-time great artists including John Byrne, George Perez and more. While new comics remain in limbo during this global crisis, and we're stuck indoors, there's never been a better time for revisiting classic comics. I think you'll enjoy this time capsule of a great creative period for Marvel, and Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

On the penultimate episode of Better Call Saul Season 5, Saul and Mike complete their trek through the desert - Saul is badly burned and dehydrated, and suffering from PTSD, but he’s alive. It would be nice to think that the worst is over, but the cover story that Mike gave him doesn’t fool Lalo, who doesn’t like being lied to and who has met Kim, who he knows is in on Saul’s operation and therefore “in the game.” This episode is unbelievably suspenseful, and the fate of many characters is left uncertain as we head into next week’s season finale episode.

If you're going to have to be stuck inside, you should at least be enjoying some quality entertainment. What better time than a quarantine to binge the all-time classic TV shows, like Battlestar Galactica and Xena: Warrior Princess? Wedding bells are in the air on the latest episode of Better Cal Saul, "JMM." That doesn't mean that Kim has made an honest man out of Jimmy/Saul, however. Far from it. He's actually in court, defending Lalo Salamanca, and getting a new motto to replace "Justice Matters Most," and instead focuses on his dark new mission in life. But with this new power comes a sense of grandiosity, which allows Saul his own "I am the one who knocks!" moment as he finally unloads on Howard Hamlin.

Today, we're recapping the latest episode of Better Call Saul - season 5, episode 6, titled "Wexler v. Goodman." It's a turning point for many characters, who are on the precipice of decisions which will change the course of their lives going forward. Kim has to choose between the ethics by which she's always lived, or the fun promised by Saul's world of chaos. Mike has already made his choice, and he's all in with Gus - which is very bad news for Lalo Salamanca, whose joyride and prominence in the cartel is brought to an abrupt end thanks to a traitor in his ranks. Nacho puts his trust in Mike that, in return for bringing down Lalo, Gus will spare him and his father. Where all this leads, we will find out as we start counting down to the season finale.

Today, we're recapping the latest episode of Better Call Saul - season 5, episode 5, titled "Dedicado a Max." This episode sees Kim breaking badder than ever, working with Saul to help out the little guy by fighting dirty. Meanwhile, Mike reconnects with an old associate and Howard remains blissfully unaware of who smashed his car - he just wants Jimmy/Saul on his team, as he faces the future with a new sense of positivity and enlightenment. We can only wonder what would have happened had Saul taken him up on his bizarrely earnest offer, but he's having way too much fun playing around in the dirt with Kim. Here's hoping she survives the experience, with her integrity and career intact.

Tonight, we recap the latest episode of Better Call Saul - season 5, episode 4, titled "Namaste." This episode is sees the main characters trying to clean up the messes they've made - of their lives, their karma, and their relationships - with varying degrees of success. Even Howard Hamlin has decided to try and be a decent guy to his old whipping boy, who now goes by Saul but will forever be "Charlie Hustle" in the smug eyes of Howard, no matter how much superficial zen enlightenment he feigns. It's a repulsive display of what to Howard feels like humility and generosity, but what to Saul is an obvious front, one given away by Howard's ostentatious car, complete with a vanity license plate reading "NAMAST3." Spoiler alert: This car does not have a happy ending in store. Meanwhile Kim wants to fix some of her own karmic damage, and is willing to play dirty to get it done. And who plays dirtier than Saul?

Tonight we recap Better Call Saul season 5, episode 3, "The Guy For This." Saul finally meets Lalo, and springs Krazy-8. In the process, we see the return of two classic Breaking Bad characters, and Saul unknowingly gets caught in the war between the Salamancas and Gustavo Fring. Things are no better for Kim, Mike, Nacho, or the rest of the main characters - everyone is abandoning their hopes and ideals, leaving them to rot like a discarded pistachio ice cream cone.
