Tune in to learn about Scumyard, however:

Sanhedrin, a New York heavy metal trio, continues to push boundaries with their latest album "Heat Lightning," following their acclaimed 2022 release "Lights On." The new album showcases a blend of traditional metal, hard rock, and modern energy, with an elevated production level. Drummer Nathan Honor describes it as the clearest expression of the band's power, achieved through experienced musicians and skilled producers. The opening track "Blind Wolf" explores the loss of instincts through the influence of cults. The album's title track, "Heat Lightning," metaphorically addresses climate change and humanity's distant relationship with nature. "The Fight of Your Life" celebrates lifelong dedication to music, while "Franklin County Line," inspired by guitarist Jeremy Sosville’s hometown, creatively incorporates local influences.

The band’s new album features a change in musical and production approach, marked by two standout tracks. "King of Tides" adopts a slow, doom-laden pace, telling a story of religious fanatics encountering feared locals, climaxing in a powerful rock solo. "Let’s Spill Some" delivers a hard rock beat, with lyrics highlighting the importance of justice over revenge and calling out deceptive powers, accompanied by a repetitive guitar riff symbolizing history.

Conjurer has undergone significant evolution since their debut album in 2018, with their second album in 2022 earning them recognition as one of the UK's most exciting metal bands. Despite their success, they focus on creating heavy music for enjoyment, avoiding politics in favor of showcasing musical skill. Their latest album, *Unself*, reflects personal and collective growth, particularly for vocalist/guitarist Dani Nightingale, who navigates new self-discoveries and societal challenges. *Unself* captures personal and societal themes, especially concerning identity and belonging, set against a backdrop of societal issues. The album balances intense post-metal sounds with thoughtful use of space, enhancing its impact. Strong band camaraderie and producer Joe Clayton's guidance aided in creating a more organic and collaborative songwriting process.

Stoned Jesus, formed by Igor Sydorenko in 2009, is a Kyiv-based heavy rock band influenced by Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. Initially a solo project called "Stoned Jesus from the Outer Space," it was shortened for seriousness. Their debut album, "First Communion," was released in 2010, followed by "Seven Thunders Roar" in 2012, which included the iconic track "I’m the Mountain." In 2015, "The Harvest" demonstrated a move towards alternative and progressive rock. "Pilgrims" came out in 2018, showcasing mature songwriting. Plans for a new album in 2020 were delayed by the pandemic, and recording resumed in 2021, but was interrupted by the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, leaving the album incomplete.

"Father Light" marks Stoned Jesus's debut with Season of Mist, showcasing their signature fuzzed-out rock and groove, complemented by Sydorenko's clean vocals and catchy choruses. "Mother Dark," intended as a darker follow-up, was shelved due to lineup issues. Igor Sydorenko then restructured the band, forming a new lineup with drummer Yurii and bassist-vocalist Andrew Rodin, post-relocation to Europe. With the 25th Anniversary Tour bolstering their momentum, Stoned Jesus is set to release "Songs to Sun," the first in a trilogy. This album blends metal, prog rock, and their most infectious choruses, unifying past and present sounds of the band.

ALL HELL is a blackened metal trio from Asheville, North Carolina, known for their relentless fusion of first wave black metal, deathrock, punk, and horror-driven storytelling. Since forming in 2013, the band has carved out a distinct identity rooted in occult themes, razor-sharp riffs, and a fierce DIY ethos. Their sound is aggressive, stripped-down, and deeply atmospheric — a raw, unfiltered descent into myth, violence, and the supernatural.

With five full-length albums and an EP to their name, including 2025’s apocalyptic concept record Sunsetter, ALL HELL has evolved from a local cult favorite into a powerful underground force. Their live presence has taken them across the U.S., sharing stages with acts like RINGWORM, BLACK TUSK, PROFANATICA, and TURN COLD, and performing at festivals such as Decibel Metal and Beer Fest, Dark Lord Day, and RPM Fest.

The current lineup, Jacob Curwen (guitar and vocals), Erik Ballantyne (bass), and Elanti (drums), continues to push the band’s sound forward while staying true to its core. With each release, ALL HELL digs deeper into a unique mythos that spans history, horror, and apocalypse, embracing the dark, the ugly, and the eternal night.

Riastrad was established in 2010 in Portland, Oregon, when guitarist Damion Lazzara collaborated with drummer Peter Bordokoff to record what would become the "Driving Into the Sun" EP. Following the recording, Peter was unable to continue with the project, but a mutual friend introduced Damion to drummer Lance Paden. Lance subsequently brought guitarist Justin Romito and bassist/vocalist Ryan Thomas into the fold, completing the lineup for the EP. This configuration performed together from 2011 to 2013; however, internal conflicts ultimately led to the band's dissolution.

Fast forward to 2022, as the global COVID-19 pandemic began to subside, Lance reached out to Damion to reconnect and jam. After several sessions, they decided to revive Riastrad, enlisting Paige Parker on vocals, based on a recommendation from a mutual friend, and Todd Dehart on bass. This new lineup made its debut performance on December 23, 2023, and has recently recorded their first album, slated for release in the fall of 2025.

Bask has called Asheville, North Carolina home for as long as they've been together. Drummer Scott Middleton and guitarist Ray Worth were already making some serious noise when they teamed up in 2013 with bassist Jesse Van Note and vocalist/guitarist Zeb Wright, who had just moved to The Land of the Sky. "We've been a band longer than we've been with our spouses," Van Note says with a gold-toothed grin. Even after 12 years in the same city, Bask still has a sound that's uniquely their own. They've shared stages with heavyweights like High on Fire, Black Tusk, and Weedeater, which has led some metal fans to label them as stoner rock. But it’s clear from the start that these guys are carving out their own path.

Their album, The Turning, is deeply rooted in the natural sounds of Appalachia. You can hear the banjo poking through the heavier riffs in "The Cloth," like a black bear swimming upstream. "We all love heavy music, and half of us grew up around folk and bluegrass," Wright explains, "but this album really leans into that mix." The lead single, "Dig My Heels," kicks off with a solid metal foundation but then ventures into the lush, kudzu-covered fields of prog. "Scott called me out on this one," Worth laughs when asked about the song's origins. "Instead of writing to my riffs like we usually do, his drumbeat took the lead this time."

Mercifix, hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, epitomizes the raw energy and aggressive sound characteristic of the speed/thrash metal genre. Formed in the early 2010s (as traitor), they quickly garnered attention for their blistering guitar riffs, complex rhythmic structures, and intense vocal delivery that pay homage to stalwart influences like Overkill and Slayer while infusing their unique flair. The band’s lyrical themes often explore existentialism, societal issues, and personal strife, resonating deeply with fans who appreciate heavy music's intellectual depth. Their dynamic live performances are a testament to their musicianship and dedication to the craft, making them a prominent fixture on the metal scene and beyond. With a new demo; "Demonstration of Demolition" that showcases both technical prowess and melodic sensibility, Mercifix continues to push the boundaries of their genre while fostering a loyal fanbase through relentless touring and engagement within Philadelphia’s vibrant music community.
