The Mets have a knack for winning on both Opening Day, and their home opener, and that trend continued yesterday with a shutout victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Unlike the previous game, New York played well on offense and defense, while the great pitching performances continued. Tylor Megill looked great in 5.1, before giving way to the trio of Reed Garrett, A.J. Minter and Max Kranick.
The offense was again paced by Pete Alonso, this time with a 2-run home run in the first -- a swing that earned the Polar Bear a curtain call. After the craziness of his offseason, that one had to feel great!
