Grace is back with some news to discuss. The Mets made a trade, the Juan Soto sweepstakes carries on, and a bevy of other pieces of minor news come together for what will hopefully be the last boring offseason update for a bit.
Next, Grace gets into the majority fo baseball awards that have been swirling the last few days. Rookie of the Year, Manager of the Year, and the Cy Young Award winners have all been announced, as well as the Hall of Fame ballot being released, so there's a lot to discuss.
Finally, Grace has a movie minute that a bit off the beaten path but lovely and heartbreaking all the same, with some wonderful stop-motion animation to boot.

Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, an all-women led Home Run Applesauce podcast where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space.
This week, we begin by discussing the latest Juan Soto rumors in the aftermath of the Mets’ meeting with the coveted free agent over the weekend. The outlook for the Mets on the Soto front is positive, but you never know. Like the rest of the Mets universe, we await his decision with bated breath.
Next, we talk about other free agency rumors, including the Mets’ interest in Willy Adames and connection to trade target Garrett Crochet. We also discuss Luis Severino and Sean Manaea turning down the Mets’ qualifying offer, Francisco Lindor’s award nominations, the Mets adding another former Yankees coach to their staff, and more.
In the second half of the show, we cover the new Women’s Pro Baseball League, which will have its first season in 2026. This is huge news for the APOTO fam and something we’ve been anticipating for a long time. We also touch on Wander Franco’s arrest, the new shaky situation with the Rays’ stadium deal, and the culmination of the Diamond Sports Group bankruptcy saga.
Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.

Welcome to From Complex to Queens, Home Run Applesauce’s podcast focusing on the Mets’ minor league system.
This week, Steve discusses the 2024 St. Lucie Mets season. The St. Lucie Mets were a very young team- the youngest team in the Florida State League and one of the youngest in all of Single-A baseball, in fact- but with youth comes inexperience. As their 22-44 record in the first half and 23-40 record in the second half highlight, there was much to be desired when it came to team performance. Still, there were more than a few solid performances and plenty of positives to take from the season.

Grace is back after a very bad few weeks and she's got a lot to talk about. She starts with the Mets, and a magical postseason run she missed recording during the full length of. She then discusses what we know in the offseason thus far, where we could go, and how she's feeling.
Then she addresses the elephant in the room--well, Oval Office. She discusses the presidential election, how bad things could go, and a reason not to give up hope and keep trudging on (spite is an awfully good motivator). Also, please excuse a momentary pause, Grace's microphone slightly unplugged towards the end of this segment for a few seconds.)
Finally, she gives a movie minute that helped her the last time this buffoon found his way to the White House, and discusses the beauty in satire.

Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, an all-women led Home Run Applesauce podcast where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space.
This week, we begin by discussing David Stearns’ end-of-season press conference, in which he indicated interest in reunions with Sean Manaea (who has exercised his opt-out) and Pete Alonso, but not so much Jesse Winker. We also discuss other highlights from that presser, such as the Mets’ plan to sign multiple starting pitchers (even more necessary now given Paul Blackburn’s surgery), Ronny Mauricio’s slow recovery from ACL surgery, and the Mets’ financial flexibility.
Next, we talk about the World Series, including Freddie Freeman’s Game 1 grand slam, the idiotic Yankee fans who assaulted Mookie Betts in Game 4 and were made famous as a result for some reason, and the Yankees’ disastrous fifth inning in Game 5 that cost them that game and the series.
We also discuss a recent MLB investigation that revealed a top teenage prospect in the Dominican Republic linked the Padres falsified his age - indicative of the league’s broader problems engaging with a corrupt and exploitative system in Latin America.
Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.

Welcome to From Complex to Queens, Home Run Applesauce’s podcast focusing on the Mets’ minor league system.
This week, Steve and Thomas talk about the 2024 Brooklyn Cyclones season. The team might not have their winning-season record in tact anymore, but one thing is still a consistent in Brooklyn: pitching. The team had plenty of standout-out pitching performances, with a pair of pitchers really emerging and blooming into top pitching prospects while figuring it out at Coney Island.

Welcome to Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World Series, the new/old favorite from Chris McShane and Brian Salvatore.
The Mets dug in, fought hard, but ultimately couldn't take down the mighty Dodgers. As Brian and Chris prepare for an offseason of Pete and Soto watch, they reflect on the season that was, celebrate the good, and try not to dig too far into postseason decisions just yet.
Chris’s Music Pick:
Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band - Clear Spot
Brian’s Music Pick:
The Hard Quartet - The Hard Quartet
