Being a podcaster has its advantages. You of course have to find what you want to talk about, and hopefully people can listen to what you have to say. Another advantage is that you find people you've never met before in your life and you can be a guest on their podcast - that is, if their subject matter matches yours. There is a little bit of criticism lately regarding the use of the characters of Christopher Pike, Mr. Spock and Number One in Season Two of Star Trek: Discovery. Some say this is necessary for the series to be rooted in the Star Trek universe, some say Discovery needs to land on its own two feet.
