Giselle had her whole life ahead of her until her mother, ex-CPS worker Kelsey Glover, began neglecting her medical needs. After a fight with her roommate over how Giselle was being medically neglected, Giselle tore out her daughter's insulin pump and drowned her in the bathtub.

Many people have heard of the cases we are about to talk about, but there’s a couple of important pieces of information that people often get wrong when they talk about them. The first is the belief that a horrific murder of a child under CPS oversight with a detailed history is an anomaly, that’s sadly not the case. Now, many people recognize that the amount of people who tried to help the poor boys we are discussing today are more than you could comfortably fit in the room we're sitting in, as well as the fact that dozens upon dozens of calls were made to the police and to various social services to try to save them. And yes, that does not sound real, but as nightmarish as it sounds, it did happen. This happens more often than you think, this channel is proof of that, and one of the worst parts of doing this is we can only cover the victims that are more than a small blurb in the newspaper. Yes, that’s right. Most murders, even those involving children, end up being nothing more than a small obituary, or a paragraph on a news website. 

The second thing people often get wrong with this case, is that despite the catastrophic negligence of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Families, the average person believes the spokespeople from LA County who claimed that they would fix every problem in their system and that a case like this would never happen again here.

But sadly, it did happen again. It happened at least two more times that we know of. Inside a county that should have known better. A county that openly told us that it knew better. We will talk about those two other times later in the video. But first, let’s dive into the cases that opened our eyes to the systemic issues inside of the departments put in place to protect children. These are the stories of Gabriel Fernandez, Anthony Avalos, and Noah Cuatro.

This week, Drewby and Yergy head to Winooksi, Vermont, to discuss the case of Peighton Geraw, a toddler who fell through the cracks of DCF. After presenting with unusual bruising, Vermont DCF Investigator John Salter paid a visit to the family home. At that time, little Peighton was possibly already dead, but the Investigator had no clue as he failed to conduct a physical inspection of the little boy. He was just 14 months and 25 days old. According to the autopsy findings, Peighton showed signs of shaken baby syndrome. He had multiple injuries to the top of his head, a forehead injury, neck injuries, damage to the retinal nerves in both eyes, and brain bleeding. He also had a lower leg fracture. His mother, Nytosha Marie Laforce, only served 4 years for his death.

This week, Drewby and Yergy head to New Castle, Pennsylvania, to discuss the case of Markie Mason, an 8-year-old boy who was murdered by his mom's new boyfriend, 43-year-old Keith Lamont Burley Jr, whom she had met on the prison pen pal website, WriteAPrisoner.com. After a headed argument, Keith kidnapped Markie and his younger brother, and brought him to a trap house, where he proceeded to stab Markie 146 times in front of his little brother.

One evening while Carnelus was allegedly making Hamburger Helper, Jabraylon suffered 3rd degree scaling burns to 30% of his body. Carlneus claimed this was an accident, but when little Jabraylon succumbed to his injuries, the medical examiner determined that the toddler was intentionally submerged into a pot of boiling water.
