I'm excited for you to dive into today's episode because I sit down with Bobby Klinck. Harvard Law Grad turned online entrepreneur who has built a huge following by building connection and adding personality to grow his business.
He's definitely NOT your typical lawyer - which obviously as a fellow recovering attorney, I love. He doesn't do suits, he hates legalese as much as I do, and he gets the importance of creating your own playbook when it comes to being a successful entrepreneur.
He's built a thriving online business by doing things a bit differently than other people... making the legal and business stuff simple with a focus on building real connections with real people instead of thinking of people as potential transactions.
Today we sit down and talk about the importance of giving in your business and not being scared to do things your own way. Throwing out the rulebook helped Bobby skyrocket his business success - and he shares how you can do that too by creating connections, not transactions. This is a super fun episode where we dive into topics such as creating your own x factor and how giving - even in such a large group hosted by Amy Porterfield -helped him really stand out. I promise you'll love this episode - there are so many good takeaways for your own business.
Online courses are a dime a dozen. It seems that every single person has a digital course. Whether you're a marketer, copywriter, nutritionist, finance expert or fitness trainer - everyone has jumped into the online digital course market.
And while the industry was booming before COVID, the truth is that the pandemic drove even more entrepreneurs into the space. And while that might be good news for business, the completion rate for most courses is terrible. In fact, the completion rate for most online courses is only about 8 percent. Which means that if you're building a course as you're listening - chances are that the people you want to reach aren't going to finish your program. And that's bad news for you because if they can't complete their program, the chances of them ever buying from you again diminishes.
So, what do you do? Today, I'm going to share with you a new way to think about your course creation and how understanding mindset can improve your ability to get your students across the finish line.
Ever wonder how I came up with the name for my personal framework and my podcast - Mindset First? Well today I'm going to share how I was able to land on a clear and captivating message and how you can today. About a year and a half ago I was in a Mastermind that gifted us the book The Three Word Rebellion by Michelle Mazur. This is a book I fell in love with because rather than simply come up with a title for a book or a concept - Michelle tapped into something I was trying to do and that was - create a movement and shake things up.
Michelle combines tools of successful social movements with the qualitative research skills she earned in her Communication Ph.D. to help business owners create a powerful, captivating message so they can connect and make more money. Today I sit down with Michelle to talk about her great book and the 3 Word Rebellion (and yes, your 3 word rebellion can be two words like mine). If you're looking for a battle cry, I invite you to tune in and break open something new in your own messaging.
Today on the podcast, I have the pleasure of interviewing Bree Weber. Bree is somebody that I've been able to watch transform using the Mindset First approach in the way she has grown her business. Bree is a copywriter who specializes in launch copy and cold pitching. Today she talks about how she's used the Mindset First approach to grow her version of her business and stand in her superpower.
She also talks about how important cold pitching has been to grow her business. Now she's teaching others how to use cold pitching to reach out to a broader audience and build the relationships with the audience they want to work with. Bree talks about how her framework is different from everyone else's and how you too can apply her framework to building your business using cold pitching.
It's an important episode for me, particularly, because it shows how Mindset First can help you tune into exactly what you're supposed to be doing in your business and growing your business in the way that you want to grow it.
On today’s episode of the Mindset First Podcast, I dive into one of the most important pillars of scaling your business that we all tend to avoid in some way or another - even if we think we’re good at it - and that’s visibility. There is some aspect of visibility that gives us all fear. That goes for you if you’re an introvert AND that goes for you if you think you’re outgoing and have this thing completely nailed.
But visibility is super important - I actually believe it’s the first key element to scaling your business.
So I take a deeper dive and talk about the fears we all have around visibility, why it’s important to conquer those fears and how you can actually take some steps forward when it comes to being more visible to the people who matter for your personal business growth. I’m excited to talk about this topic because the truth is that if we can’t be seen, we can’t make the impact we want. So, if you’ve been stalling around being visible in a real and meaningful way, I invite you to listen and hear how you can start to conquer the fear around visibility and move forward. And even if you think you’ve mastered it, find out some sneaky ways fear may still be holding you back.
On today’s episode of the Mindset First Podcast, I sit down with Molly Vaile for an enlightening conversation about how mentorship can boost your growth. Molly has a unique background where she’s worked for over twenty years at the intersection of marketing, strategy and operations, incubating new ideas to drive growth at startups, middle-market and Fortune 500 companies alike.
She’s spent time working for the Olympics, companies like JP Morgan and now owns her own business helping CEOs realize their vision and each step of the way, Molly has leaned on mentors to help her expand - both personally and in her business. What fascinated me about this conversation is how we always think about mentorship perhaps as something good for our business - we don’t realize that it doesn’t have to be a single person and that it can expand even into your personal life.
Molly shares how to think about getting your own mentor, breaking through your mindset concerns and how you can even get started if you’re thinking about mentoring others. I love this as an idea about how to grow and scale your business that is a little different than what you might have imagined! I’m excited to share this thoughtful conversation with you!
This week on the Mindset First podcast, I'm doing something a little bit different. Sometimes it's hard to believe that you can make the changes that you need to grow your business. There's so much that's getting in the way every day. There's client work, family demands, all of the things that keep you from growing your own business.
I decided this week to bring you a few of the success stories from some of my students who have taken my Scale for Success program. They talk a about what mindset aspects have made a difference in their life and their business and how they've learned to grow by writing their own business playbook, and truly advancing their business in a new way.
These three amazing women talk about what their business was like before. And I promise, you're going to find some similarities with what's happening in your business now. I sat down and interviewed them to hear a little bit about how every day, people can change their business and make a bigger impact on the world.
Tune in to this week's episode, and I hope it'll inspire you to make some shifts.
In today's episode of the Mindset First Podcast, I invited Daniel Lamb, who is the owner of a micro agency called Holland Creative that focuses on creating turnkey, done for you, funnels for coaches and course creators to sit down and talk to me a little bit about how he went from an underpaid waiter to making over $20,000 a month in his business.
As he shares, it wasn't a short trip. It took him four years to get to where he is today. Daniel and I talk a lot about some of the mindset shifts he's made and what it means to be curious in your business. He's pretty open about how he's dealt with his mindset challenges and what it means for you to start to think about sales differently and how you can grow your business.
I hope you'll get a lot out of this episode and take some time to tune in.
Today on the podcast, I have an important question that I want to ask you. Whose playbook are you following to grow your business? Are you following a path the experts carved out for you? Or perhaps do you feel a little like me in the early days?
Just winging it and following what feels good, but not really creating any momentum. One of the things I learned about scaling is that many of us feel stuck and don't create the momentum we want because we're so busy trying to follow a conscious or subconscious or even unconscious playbook that was handed to us that we think we need to follow. The truth is, from the time that we were young, we were told that there's a certain way to do things, that there's always some authority to follow. And unfortunately, many of us are still busy building our business to mirror what we think we should be doing rather than checking in with ourselves.
So in this episode, I tackle what it means to follow a pre-written playbook and how you can break through it to better scale your business and build momentum while following something that feels right for you. Tune in.
Is it possible that feelings are the key to helping your business grow? In this episode of The Mindset First Podcast, I sit down with Career Therapist and Coach, Bryn Johnson to talk about how to get ahead by connecting with what you love.
Bryn has over 30 years of corporate experience in advocating career mobility and management issues on behalf of professionals. She has always thought of career and business trajectory as an exercise into delving into the things that block us from being a more effective leader and business person.
In this podcast Bryn shares her expertise around the things that hold us back from building an intentional business. We talk about regret, feelings, second guessing and how do you not choke on the business you built.
